I have heard of 415rwhp with long tubes, CAI, and tune (a solid 40-50rwhp over stock which is darn impressive). Do you have a link to the cars making 425-430rwhp with just a tune and CAI???? 60-70rwhp over stock with a tune and CAI is a little absurd.

Honestly, if we can make 430rwhp with simple and cheap tune and CAI, I think we should all go buy 2011 GT Mustangs. That number just doesn't make sense.

*edit* I think I found what you were talking about. Livernois made 430rwhp with a tune and CAI (also GT500 mufflers, but I don't think they do much). However, their stock baseline was 390rwhp which is insanley high compared to the 365rwhp range I have seen. Perhaps their numbers were not corrected or their dyno just reads high. Still, a 40rwhp gain from a tune and CAI is very impressive.

Rich from Livernois said that the 390rwhp baseline came after a couple thousand miles. Said the same car made 375rwhp with around 100 miles on it.

But their has been a few CAI, tune, exhaust 5.0s put down around or above 430rwhp.

By "exhaust" are you including headers? I realize the Livernois car just had GT500 mufflers and they were on for teh 390hp baseline run.

Bottom line, color me impressed. VERY impressed. GM has got some work to do.....if the Boss is a factory CAI/tuned version of the GT then it will be a beast. If it is more than that, look out!

Eh....420-430 RWHP on just a tune and CAI way up on the high side of things....an outlier IMHO. A bigger deal is how much the cars GAIN with just those modifications. 25-35 RWHP is probably about the average, which I think is very respectable.

I would say the same....except for these dyno graphs guys are throwing up. Unless there is a mass conspiracy to fool mustang owners.

The latest special edition Mustang comes with plenty of items that will excite road racing fans - an upgraded clutch, short-throw shifter, adjustable suspension, improved brakes and a more potent version of the 5.0-liter V8 that produces 440 horsepower and 380 lb-ft torque thanks to a new intake and more aggressive camshafts. Ford claims the Boss 302 will be able to break 1.0g and lap a typical road course two seconds faster than the standard Mustang GT. Ford engineers even reportedly benchmarked the BMW M3 when developing the Boss 302, aiming to beat the famous Bavarian coupe around Laguna Seca, which they claim to have achieved.

Ford did well to make this a real performance package instead of just decals and wheels. 440HP / 380tq from new intake and revised cams is very nice.
I wish it was the kind of formula GM would have used for the Z28. But in this day in age it almost seems like true performance is measured in HP and cost from a public perception standpoint. This BOSS 302 will slide in under the GT500 and probably be the best performing Mustang dollar for dollar.

A little underwhelmed, I was hoping 70 Boss 302, not 69. Where is my Shaker hood and Hockey stick stripes? Also no Kona Blue option? really?

When it comes to the Boss and Mach cars, it seems most people prefer the 69 cars (I'm a 70 Mach fan myself, especially the FE cars fitted with the shaker )

Still a pretty good effort IMO, can't wait to see how the Boss does down at VIR (which seems the be a favorite for that sort of things these days).

Would it be to much to ask C&D for the 2011 LL to get a GT, Boss and GT500 out there and see how they do

Anyone see the picture of the tachometer? The redline has been raised.

The quad exhaust system is frigg'n nuts, I also dig the intake, its a shame they can't show off the runners and trumpets somehow.
