I'm glad to see this site is still capable of an old-fashioned FoMoCo / GM battle...I was beginning to think sworn enemies were getting too cozy and buddy-buddy.

 

I like where may's is taking ford's styling. I like the spyshots of the focus (well, maybe not the backend). The f150 looks a lot better. The mustang coupe concept was awesome.

I'm not a ford fan but i like the changes ford is making.

Get this straight, Ford doesn't "put" Mustangs into fleet service, the rental agencies and large fleet buyers CHOOSE what cars they want to buy. These decisions are based on consumer response, satisfaction surveys, reliability, costs, and value (resale and actual). The fact that the agencies CHOOSE to buy so many Mustangs, Taurus', and Focus' says alot in it's own right, doesn't it?

Looks like they had so much fun with the first few "ignition recalls", they decided to keep doing it over and over!
Personally, I'd rather take my chances with a bad tire than to have my car in the garage burn my house down while I slept.

Heck, if you can't fix it between 2000 and 2002, just don't bother.
"Old" cars didn't have airbags anyways, and not everybody died in crashes then...

Looks like the General does EVERYTHING bigger than the competition.... 1,500,000 units... wow.

I just found over 5,510,000 separate GM units recalled between Nov 2000 and Aug 2003, and I ONLY HIT THE BIG ONES! I skipped anything under 100K units. And these recalls are all operational/detrimental in nature... it's not like they are to replace seat-back bolts or seat belt clips.

Brandon - spare me the long-winded retaliation of Ford recalls. I know they have recalls too. I watch every one of them. My point is to fortify what RiceEating5.0 was trying (more politely than I) to tell you. GM has some great stuff - always has, always will. But you are insane if you think they are trouble free and Ford is in the dumpster. Like it or not, your TB is just as bad if not worse than the Focus situation. I saw at least 8 recalls on it just in that one search I used for the links above.

The point of this thread was NOT to bash on Ford but to comment on their position of moving into the future. Should you decide to keep making ridicule of Ford and their products, be advised that I will be ever prepared to demonstrate that GM can be found just as guilty of anything "stupid" as Ford can. Proceed with caution.

I'd rather we write about positive, interesting, forward-looking, and productive things, or at least not bash on each other but on imports and ricers instead. Whaddya say...
