Ford Mustang makes Top 10 Car Sales List

I am only posting this, as I found it interesting. For CY 2005, the Mustang is in 9th place in car sales. Mustang sold more than the 300 even, and was very close to the Focus.

Maybe its just me, but I think that is quite an accomplishment. Especially considering that Jan and Feb are not exactly hot months for a car like Mustang.

I hope this continues. Hopefully it will give GM some additional interest in a Camaro replacement (sooner rather than later).

And Ford isn't really even shipping them to the "colder areas." When April/May hits, these things will catch like wild fire. Ford might actually beat a sales projection

Yes, give me one of those 25k V8 coupes that only sell 70,000 units a year. Oh yeah, GM did that and lost their *** doing it. They will not be making that mistake again.

Good product. Unique looks. Reasonable price.

Is this a surprise?

Too bad Ford won't sell 600K of them like they did in 1966. I'd much rather see Mustangs than Camrys.

Offer a good product with value, looks, quality, fun to drive and heritage and it will sell. And it dosen't hurt that people give you a thumbs up while driving everywhere you go.

Ford is gearing up for some major upgrades with this car too,it will not stagnate, but evolve into some great performance vehicles. This is just the tip of the iceburg.I have a friend that works for a outside ford vendor and he is working on some cool stuff for the near future. If and when GM offers a competitor,it will have to be an amazing car to compete-and I hope it does.

Well, with the way that 500/Freestyle/Montego sales keep increasing month after month.......... they should soon be beating sales goals also. Ford wanted to sell 200,000 a year, and February's volume puts it at an an annual sales number of 190,000.

Its close. The 3.5L V6 goes into production in the last quarter of this year. That should really help to pump up sales also.

Hell, if I was game for a new vehicle right now, I would be all over an AWD Freestyle. I looked at them............ they are huge inside. With the CVT or 6-speed, they are faster than my Tribute, and get significantly better fuel economy. It's amazing what a decent tranny can do (the trans is the only thing that I don't love with my Tribute).

Where did you hear that the 3.5 was going into the Freestyle/500 next year? I am pretty sure you have bad info.

This is not surprising at all to me . The stale 04 sold incredibly well to the end , and I would bet the 05's will see 200K plus easy . This car has yet to for sale in the summer and the convertible isnt even out yet .

Re: Ford Mustang makes Top 10 Car Sales List

yeah, ford sells like a trillion v6's, which is what seems to keep them on the market (at least from what i see driving on the roads). mostly women in the drop top v6's. I've rarely seen SVT's and some more GT's in the past few years. thats where gm made the mistake. i don't see many 98-02 v6's, but see SS's and WS6's along with their counterparts (T/A & Z28) all the time. on the other hand, i see a trillion 93-97 v6's and almost as many Z's, and T/A's. I'd like to see the mustangs sales of GT's and SVT's alone. wondering if the v6's are the difference.

I see new Mustangs left and right but there all V6's. I've only seen 1 or 2 GT's. But I did see an '05 GTO today I was actually able to spot it without looking out for it
