Ford Focus recalled... again....

How many f-body owners in here have horrible or nonfunctional window motors? I’ve already replaced mine once in the past 3 years and it looks like I’m going to have to do it again. it’s a bitch of a job and I’m pissed that I’ve got to fork over another $300 and spend all weekend in the garage.
I know I’m not the only guy with this problem. Its obviously an engineering f*ck up. Ya think if GM cared they redesign the part and recall them. But no, I’ll just keep paying on average $100 a year to roll my windows up and down.
Ok…….Flame suit on….
…….bring it!

2004 Was the first year the car has been raised to recommended. Prior to that all the reviews say the same, fun to drive, but not recommended due to reliability issues. I bought my wife a compact in 2003. Because of the problems with both the Cavalier and Focus I bought a Civic, even though it was thousands higher. Of course, I know that a Civic is a good economy compact, not a performance car!
this car is horrible.theres a major difference between a power window and a safety or reliablility problem.one is annoying the other will leave you stranded or compromise your safety.how many recalls is enough on one car?WTF.
Most of the recalls are for the first year models (2000's and maybe 2001's). The newer ones aren't as affected and make for nice cars. A close friend of mine has a black 03 Zx3 hatch which he's just starting to modify (plans on turbo'ing it this winter). All he does is sing praises for this car. His previous car was a 96 civic (which i bought off him a year ago).
It is a nice car. Over in Europe it is loved. Here in the states, it had lots of potential but it got plauged with recalls which tarnished its image. A screw-up on Ford's part.

Did you know that if you add up the number of 2002, 2003 and 2004 Focuses recalled the number would be smaller than the number of 2002 camaros recalled.

I don't know about the 2002 Camaro's, but a 2002 chevy that's also having many recall issues would be the 2002 TrailBlazer. I believe it has had 9 or so recalls. I really haven't heard any issues with the 2002 camaro. Haha, you'd think it'd be posted here

I didn’t say the Focus was a reliable or well built car. I really don’t know enough about it to make a comment like that. I'm saying at least Ford will recognize a problem and do something about it. I also realize that failing window motors aren’t quite as serious as "Chronic engine stalling". I think Camaro’s over all are much better built. Mine has 125,900 miles on it and besides the water pump I spent all night tonight putting on, the only problem it really has is the window motors. The red flag I'm throwing here is I replaced the water pump after 125,900 miles. That’s normal. I'm replacing the window motors almost every 30,000 miles. That not. My dads old 1987 Ford F250 never had it window motors replaced. They rolled up great after almost 200,000 miles. It’s an obvious flaw in the F-bodies design. The window motor suck. GM never admitted anything wrong about their $hitty design. While it’s not life threatening, GM profited off of repairs that people shouldn’t have had to pay. All I'm saying is Ford has ***** to do the right thing since they put out a bad product. They are fixing the problem.
i dont remember ford having the ***** to admit their mistake in that firestone tire screwup.
and my window motor was replaced under warranty no extra charge.its still slow though.
crank pulley doesnt help though.

The 02 Camaro has one recall listed covering 897 cars.
Though I should change the word Camaro to F-body because I see they have the same recall listed for the Firebird.
Just an intresting bit of trivia to think about.
Just because they are voluntarily fixing this problem doesn't mean squat. They were FORCED to fix crap the first TEN times before.
Now they volunteer to fix a problem this time and they "have *****"?
Don't think so.

Fine.….. my point was horribly ridicules. What the hell was I thinking? Ford is the worst auto maker in the world. Toy R’ Us builds tricycles better than Ford builds anything.
Blah Blah Blah………
Oh and GM builds $hitty window motors and I want mine replaced!
Whatever
