GM looking to wind-down incentives...

http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content...._code=04699571

While I understand this has to end at some point, or become a permanent fixture and diminish it's real value, I am somewhat concerned what will happen since it seems like some of GM's newly launched vehicles have had inflated MSRP's since the incentive wars began, presumably to help offset some of the huge rebates.

Will GM roll back some of the MSRP's? Will they leave them where they are and expect people to embrace the pricing?

It should be interesting.

I think they will lower the msrp's to coincide with the diminished incentives. I'm sure they realize that you can't lower one without the other.

You would think... but it is pretty rare to see MSRP's rolled back.

Maybe they are thinking they could sneak these inflated MSRP's by, let them sink in with the rebates in the short term, then pull the rebates, and make a much nicer profit 'down the road'?
