I'll take that as a yes.

What exactly does the thermodynamic efficiency of a supercharger or turbocharger mean? I couldn't figure that out, and that's why I assumed the figures were for the complete engine.

I know.

I actually didn't even know what GMX-551 was, let alone that Impala/Lucerne had been canceled.
Lucerne hasn't officially been cancelled.

I did hear something about the NorthStar replacement being canceled, but I thought that was just a rumor at this point.
Nope, it's fact.

That said, has it occurred to you that maybe they just scrapped one particular approach, and that there is some other NorthStar replacement candidate?
It's possible... In fact, it's entirely possible that the rumored DOHC 6.2L version of the LS line will replace it. -OR- it's entirely possible that GM has regressed to it's good 'ole self and panicked into slicing programs prematurely. (Which was my point in the first place) I never said anything about any of this being fact. Honestly, my post was merely a "Way to go Ford!" piece and nothing more as I'm very happy to see Ford showing some signs of life.
