Falcon BA UTE
Falcon BA UTE
Think Ranchero.
Why?
1. It's a truck. It falls under "Truck" standards.
2. Australia may ratify the FTA, which would end our 25% tax on imported trucks.
3. If Ford figures it's cost effective, it's coming here.
4. Bill Ford (as in current CEO) did some time working at Ford of Australia. He and a few other Ford execs want to get it here.

Nice
As an El Camino owner, I think it would be cool to see modern versions of the classic haulers roaming the streets, mostly because both the Ford and GM models ended on sour notes (though the G-bodies were nice, in stock form they were pretty wimpy.) Be it Ford or Chevy that first brings these to the States, there will be a market for them I believe. I'd be curious to see whether or not the names Ranchero or El Camino ever make an appearance on the sides of these cars.
I actually like the looks of the Falcon UTE over the Holden. I just like the front end of the Ford better, it looks more agressive. Everything from the windshield back looks the same on either model.
Curious to see how this pans out...
