Any idea what the harder stuff is?

No, not really. Easy stuff would be facia, hood and fenders and I would think the harder stuff to be anything else to do with the rest of the structure that maybe didnt look quite right.

I have to say tho that the C6 prototype that I saw in early summer at the Delphi HQ in Kokomo did not look all that different in basic structure and dimension than a current C5. The car was covered with a black padded bra tho so it was impossible to see details.

Maybe it looked too much like the Caddy? Maybe it didnt look right without popup headlamps?

Now that I think about it, I am thinking that prototypes bra mighta had seams/cutouts for popup headlights.

GOOD!!!

Because, IMO, I think removing the concealed headlamps from Corvette is a HUGE mistake.

That sounds almost too good to be true. Do it GM, (and make the car better looking while you are at it.) Caddy will then have quite a Halo Car, for a lot cheaper than the Cien.
Speaking of the looks of the XLR, there was more to the article than what I put in my first post. The cadillac XLR is originally going to be made with a plastic skin, but will be replaced after 2 model years will a new steel skin. Changes will be significant, although the new styling will still reflect cadillacs art & science design philosophy.

Whoever said it eariler, I agree, somebody (Lutz probably) came along and said, ok, this is ugly, and hence the quick changes in styling.

Changing the face of the C6 one year into the design does not look good. GM's had plenty of time to redo it by now. I'm not sure if I believe this.

- The cadillac XLR is rumored to be in line for the twin turbo version of the 4.6 L northstar v8 (as a special performance version) with the goal rumored to be north of 450 horsepower.

- GM's performance division will put out a V8 Grand Prix. The engine will be an all-new multivalve V8, said to be less than 4.0 L, yet making 300+ HP, with variable valve timing. It will debut within a year of the base grand prix model.
My how far we've come in less than 10 years. Back when 300hp NA and 450hp twin turbo V8s were impressive.

Is it too late to warn them about the GM bankruptcy?
