Camaro SS take 3

That single change is that the body line extending from the trunk apparently continues on into the door a la C6 rather than blending into the quarter panel. I am aware of no other design hints that have been dropped so this is for now, the "final" take for me. I personally think that IZ28's tweaks make the car more 1st gen retro than it really will be.
Now that I would buy in a heartbeat. That is nice.

I'm glad at least ONE person actually read my post & my heading, and didn't twist the post into a totally ridiculous direction. It's getting so it's becoming completely pointless to post certain tidbits of info.

No one said this exact car is the Camaro, only a STARTING point for the design direction. Chop off the greenhouse, and it's pretty obvious the info we are getting on Camaro's new design is an evolution of this body. When this car was done, Camaro's future was in serious doubt, and it was also clear it would soon be discontinued.

Is it possible for someone post any bit trivia information about an early design idea without having it photoshopped to death & then critiqued as if it's the actual car???

Reality Check time: Guys, it's an early IDEA from 6 years ago, not an actual production car! You already have a good idea what the next Camaro's going to look like.

Give it a rest already!

I thought I had already described that in some detail.

If every car Chevy makes has the same grill and the same body darts on the side of it. Then yes, that would be generic.

SSR: Last time I looked at one, it had the same generic chrome bar grill as all of chevy's other cars.

Different forms of vehicles using the same styling cues: Lets see, Full size chevy trucks, small chevy trucks, SSR, Impala, Malibu, Next C coupe? all using the same chrome bar grill. Pretty much covers most of the "forms of vehicles" I can think of.
Q: How many production Chevys currently have body "darts"?

A: Zero, none, nada, zilch

Furthermore, while all Chevys (sans Vette) have a stylized version of the "chrome bar"... it still varies form grill to grill on each model... not unlike Buick, Pontiac, Mercedes, Dodge, BWM, etc. Chevy chose to go this route a few years back so that each new Chevy could be identified as a Chevy.

The current Impala and Malibu both have them.

That is, if I am taking "body dart" to mean what I think it does, which is the little body crease that runs up in an arc from the wheel wells, and shoots back down the side of the car.

Impala: http://www.wieck.com/public/*2PV_053559

Malibu: http://www.wieck.com/public/*2PV_058792

The other Nomad concept has them too: http://www.wieck.com/public/*2PV_006622

Um, Yes the current Impala and Malibu do. Not only did I mention that in my first post, It was kind of the point of it.

I realize Chevy put the chrome bar grill on all of their vehicles so they could be identified as a Chevy. That is what I do not like, and do not want to see on the next Camaro. Remember my comment about "generic family styling" that is what I was talking about.

Also, as you say here they decided to do this a few years back. The new Camaro won't be out for at least 3 more years. This styling feature will be six years old by then. That totaly proves my point about these styling features being "old and tired" by then.

As a companion to my drawings I have been busy putting together a photographic rendering. This should more closely approximate a realistic (at least as it applies to my original drawings) result.

To note, this is not an exact replica in working from the artwork since the "measurements" were made by eye so there is a degree of variance in the result. If you compare it to the nomad concept you can see similarities in the design theme.

This is realistically a 4th gen Camaro-sized rendition since the overall car is roughly mirrored; the wheelbase is roughly 1st/2nd gen size. The actual SS is approx 5 inches longer than a 4th gen car; the wheelbase is approx 19 inches longer than the 4th gen - so do the rough math and you can gauge dimensional measurements of this car.

final rendering

The companion SS concept car photo is here

I still cannot fall inlove with the nose. The rest of the car, hell yes... but the nose is very disapointing. The side flares also dont look the part. I become less and less enthusiastic about the future of this car as more and more pictures are made. I am very saddend by this fact. I know Im not gunna get my exact camaro made, but the nose part of all these cars is not what I wanted to see.

Better than before, but I have no interest in that being the next Camaro. Maybe certain design themes, but not the whole car or even 3/4's of it.

Not saying anyting about what you've done because it's not your design choices, I know you're trying to do the GM Chevy Coupe concept to it's fullest.
