I guess the looks of these new trucks is starting to grow on me the more I see them. I don't really like the half chrome bumper, but other than that...it's a decent looking truck. It did take me about a year or so to like the last style, so I'm guessing I'll come around more on these too.

I definitely like the way that truck looks. Does it have the bench seat with the work truck dash or the buckets with the nicer dash? If it's the nicer dashboard that'd be almost completely ideal IMO, though I'd still wait for GM to release the 6-speed auto and maybe just maybe release the 6.0 for standard cab trucks since Toyota will have the 5.7 for its standard cabs.

3 piece bench and work truck dash. Other than there not being any fake wood the dash looks pretty good to me.

I'm with you on that a 6 speed and 6 liter would have been preferable, but I wasn't prepared to use the Camaro as a daily driver until they build them. Toyota? I'd rather walk!!

Agreed. When I saw the underseat storage on the bench seat I thought, "dang I need that!"

Nice looking truck, congrats! I haven't seen many regular cab trucks.

Agreed. I was a bit undecided on the styling of the GMT900 pickup until seeing this pic (everything I've seen in person has been the now-ubiqutious extended-cab/short-box combo). Now I'm thinking that it looks as good as the GMT400.

Looks good. I'm toying with the idea of getting a new Silverado or Sierra as my next vechicle.

poSSum,
Nice truck.
Did you get the electric shift or manual shift 4wd system?

It's the electric. Do GMT900s have the manual? I don't recall having to select it when I spec'd the truck.

BTW, it's the most seemless Auto4WD I've driven. I've been a real critic of the "Almost" on demand systems in our previous vehicles (96 Sonoma, 98 Jimmy, 02 Envoy) and still prefer the AWD in the TB SS, but this is pretty good. It'll be interesting to see if it has any MPG benefits.

Lucky you, congrats! The new Chevy/GMC trucks are just outstanding IMO. I just love the way the front looks, enjoy.

I just drove a 2500 HD with the Duramax/Allison combo yesterday. It was an extended cab, long bed, 4x4. It is awesome.

These GMT900s are really nice trucks.
I want a Sierra with these exact same options. I heard the Duramax is getting a huge upgrade soon though. Gotta love the new GM trucks!

Yes, they offer a manual shift t-case in the 900s (MP 1222 & MP 1225). But probably only in the very base model. When you went with the LT, it probably excluded the manual t-case from the options. That's why you got the electric, active t-case (MP 3023 (RPO code NQH))

I'm glad you like the t-case. We try to do a good job here building them for you guys. This has been a VERY critical launch for us. We've been working tons of OT(as a matter of fact, I'm sitting in my office right now, eating lunch while I type this) making sure that what goes out our doors is good stuff.
