The events of the Charger's life don't even closely resemble those of the Camaro.

Also, the Charger was a 2 door version of a Coronet sedan back when 2 doors made up over half of a carline's sales. Today, sedans seem to be filling where coupes once were.
Then there's the the fact that the Charger everyone is comparing the new sedan to has been gone for 30 years (replaced by the "Magnum" in '77), and became a 4 cylinder FWD Omini based hatchback for about as many years as it was the Charger that's being worshiped.

wrong,
I was in favor of the Camaro comming back as a quad coupe. , heck even AWD. Gotta remember, you are comparing a mid size car to a full size car. for all purposes a Pony Car to a Muscle car ...and if the Camaro took a 20 year layoff of what it was then it would not be a big deal actually.especially if it was a fwd turbo econocar for a while...I think I would be doing exactly what I am doing rooting for the new Chargers., BUT got to remember the Camaro was not a 3rd gen or a 4th gen with the nice LT1 and LS1 engines in it to make it relevant in todays market to have it a 2 door..were left with the 2nd gen to spin off of 20 plus years later.... a new 4 door 425 HP Camaro...yea why not..But the thing is the charger is comparable to the new Impala..another historic high HP nameplate..
and if a 2 door would be compariable to a 2 door charger/impala..or better yet Impala has one ,Monte Carlo.
Re: Dodge Super Bee (1st pictures)
I LOVE the Super Bee car. I'd love to own one if it wasn't for the close to 50K price tag and lackluster gas mileage. That would be one badass family car. The yellow looks SO awesome on it in person. I'd save some money and buy a yellow Daytona Charger and slap on a supercharger and nice wheels. I was seriously looking at a Magnum or Charger as my next vehicle after the Camaro is paid off until the unveiling of the new Camaro. I've been driving mostly S series trucks and Blazers since 1995 because there isn't crap for cars that's RWD and can haul/carry anything. I'm getting married this fall and will probably have kids in a few years so I'd like a sporty V8 RWD sedan vs all the bland boring FWD POS cars and minivans out there. SUV's are just too big for any real RWD ones and handle like ****. GM would never be stupid enough to come out with a 4 door Camaro. They have enough other great names from the past they could use instead. Hell...bring back the Chevelle nameplate and put it on a hot V8 RWD sedan.
Re: Dodge Super Bee (1st pictures)
It's hot. I just wish it had something over the SRT8, which it doesn't. The SRT8 is 425hp. I hoped the Super Bee would come in with even more power (~500hp), Taller Wing (symbolic), and even better Suspension...
Oh well. It's still hot as hell. But I'd be pissed in my Super Bee if I pulled up besides a cheaper SRT8 with Catback, Headers, and Intake and get smoked... Blah.

I saw this car at NAIAS. You can't argue with the power numbers, but I'm not a fan of the decal packages. I'd like to see more unique features (and appearance) to differentiate these special editions.
Re: Dodge Super Bee (1st pictures)
WTF its a dodge charger. You can already get them with a hood scoop and rear fender paint from the factory.
Whats the big deal? That car is already out abiet a different name.

Re: Dodge Super Bee (1st pictures)
hmmmm... maybe a 2 door Charger could fill in below the 6.1L only Chellenger
Offer it in only V6 and R/T (with 6 speed manual option)
I like the SRT-8 Charger a lot. The Charger in general has grown on me a lot. I'm probably going to get another 4 door for my next car (unless it is a new Camaro) so the more hot rod 4 doors the better.

Quote from the article...
That is funny becasue the 3 times I was there this was the exact case.
Nobody even noticed it.
Doesn't do much for me.
I'm over the Charger 4-door thing too, in fact a SRT8 is appealing.
However, a look at the price tag and the fuel consumption, and you've got to be in love with the styling in order to buy it over a GTO.
It’s hard to hide a black and yellow Charger. Especially nowadays, with that bold design. Strangely enough, however, that’s what was happening at the 2006 Chicago Auto Show – a black and yellow Charger, with a bee on the fenders, just sitting in a quiet corner surrounded by custodians and waiting, patiently, for someone to give it a look.
Nobody even noticed it.

Re: Dodge Super Bee (1st pictures)

and to boot does this look anything like it was meant to me? a muscle car???
Thats why you cannot compare Camaro and Charger. two DIFFRENT cars..
Charger is more along the lines osaid Monte Carlo and Impala..

nope thats a Plymouth model its the Super Bee though...
But NikiVee what ya mean there is alot of them in New England...alot of police used them before the Fury came out

But see where IM going with this the 4 door Charger could fit for the sheer size of the car it was more on the size of Chevelle and Monte Carlo or Can Am as you see in the 78 version.
The 80's FWD 4 banger GLHs Charger...or the 4 door SRT-8 Charger what one holds true to the originalr Charger more? Ill take either one, but the one that steps up to what the original offered is the 2006 Charger.
and they made a 4 door Mustang..it was called the LTD on the Fox platform
lol..or even a Cougar Station Wagon, or a 4 door Thunderbird. And speaking of Station Wagons..they had a SS Chevelle Wagon...Companies stray from what the original car was, heck you know how the Probe came to be, thanks to the Stang fan base. I think with the market being as it is the Charger being a 4 door is a good thing..a foor door Camaro..if it did not have the 35 years of linage I would say sure why not do the same thing..ESPECIALLY if GM brought out a FWD 4 banger Camaro in the 80's
