my best Artie Lang impresion...
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAA..Its got four doors..WHAAAAAAAA....Its not a real Charger if its got 4 doors..WHAAAAAAAAA..."
This car is awsome I dont car what you think...and it IS a Charger..it hauls *** and looks BAD A$$

This is 2006 not 1966 where 2 doors were the popular car to build muscle cars from. 2006 you have more cars that haul *** that are 4 doors than you do 2 doors....so what? Asl ong as they are RWD and V8 who cares if they are 4 doors..

You get good handling --> ~.9 G
Braking --> Brembos from the factory (even if the stopping distance isn't super-car like, at least you have the hardware in place and you can always upgrade the pads/rotors)
HP --> Quarter mile on a bad day is 13.3, average is 13.0-13.1, and if you live where the baro. hits 30.9, you might be able to run a 12.6.
~ $36k msrp. Regardless of whether you dislike the 4 doors, show me a better package currently offered? The 4 doors is a big plus to me with 2 kids. NOt to mention, the back seat is LARGE. Oh, and you get great seats with great side bolstering.
I can just see GM falling short with their competitor. Sure, it may look better, and may even weigh less, and offer a 6spd + LS2. I can even see it turning similar quarter mile times (with the 6spd, so my automatic is still as quick).
But, it'll probably have GTO like handling, and GM's version of performance brakes, and I think we all know to expect seats less performance oriented than anything in the SRT8, and the base price will probably be $34-38k.
I'd quickly give up my brand loyalty for the (probably uglier) SRT8 charger with brembos, stiff handling, proper seats, etc.
So, what I can see winning me over in Chevy or Pontiac's new RWD sedan in a couple years:
420-450hp (400 would be enough if it weighed 3600lbs, but we know that won't happen) Automatic quarter mile 12.6-13.0@ 108-111mph
6spd automatic
Sharp handling, pulling at LEAST .88 G
Brembo brakes
Good seats
It would require all that, for an MSRP of $36k
It is for those reasons above that I would gladly pay more money for the SRT8 Jeep over the TBSS. TBSS lacks handling & brembos, seats, (whole interior is garbage) The acceleration is acceptible (kinda), but they should dump the freakin' 6L80 in there already!
After sitting in the TBSS at the autoshow, and seeing all the old GM buttons/dash, etc, I wouldn't take a fully loaded AWD TBSS for $25k!

The LS2 GTO is more than enough competition for the Charger. It has less horsepower, but it has less weight. The interior in the GTO is better, IMO than the Charger Daytona that I looked at the other day (The one thing that threw turned me off was the cheap door panels used on the Charger, Everything else looked nice). As for breaking and ride comfort, I can't really coment for that, since I haven't driven or rode in a Charger. I would easily agree the Charger has much more functionality, with an easy accessible back seat, and a larger trunk.
With an MSRP of an SRT-8 being $38,095 + Options, its easy to see that a GTO (which is pretty much fully optioned at about $34,000) can compete on price as well.

I like the fact it has 4 doors....
I dislike the fact it has no 6speed manual....
All you 2 goor guys just get on the challenger bandwagon.
I really hope all you 4 door haters have actually seen one of the srt8 cars in real life... the pictures do not do them justice.

Well, TBSS doesn't have the handling or the braking.
GTO doesn't have near the handling and even if the braking numbers say it's close, it still doesn't have BRembos (as I previously mentioned, at least the hardware is there, and you can always upgrade the pads & rotors)
TBSS is a competitor of the GC SRT8 (or even the Magnum SRT8 if 2wd)
So to you guys who mentioned the GTO, I still fail to see a decent arguement in favor of the GTO. (regardless of being 2 doors)
The SRT8 handles better and stops better. If they made a 4 door version of the GTO (one of the other holdens), it wouldn't stop as well or handle nearly as well as the SRT8.

I've never driven an SRT-8 Charger, but I have to say that the GTO feels very much like the Charger R/T I drove in the way it handles. Maybe the GTO feels alittle better than an R/T, strictly because of it's smaller size and lower weight. But it certainly doesn't blow the Charger R/T away. I would imagine the SRT-8 version would handle alot sharper.

As for the Super Bee, I think all this 60's era stuff, while cool, isn't me.
Show me a Charger R/T comp package with a 6 speed manual, and the deal my sister was offered ($27K!), and I'd clear my lineup to get one.
Charger looks good in any color, as long as it's black (or that really dark grey or blue).

BTW, did anyone check out the price on the Rumble Bee Rams? Those things are a STEAL!
Re: Dodge Super Bee (1st pictures)
Wait...this has to come with something besides a sticker. Factory headers, a better cam, revised heads, a better intake...something
edit: That's a cool photoshop. But I'd like to see a photoshop 2-dr 300c with a tall and wide grill.

I saw a SRT-8 Charger tonight, looked really good. It stickered for $43k though. $2100 of it was a gas guzzler tax!!! $225 for the red paint.
They also had a SRT-8 300 for $46k and a SRT-10 quad cab that was $56k. The sticker said 9 mpg city...lol

The events of the Charger's life don't even closely resemble those of the Camaro.
