Do we really need a $40,000 Camaro that is as quick as the GT500?

Also remeber that the 91 and 92 Firehawks were faster than those year's Vettes. Lets not forget the 89 Turbo Trans Am either.

OK let's not confuse ourselves here.
There's always room for factory freaks and gearing mismatches.
I've always said Camaro, not Firebird. Making the next GT500 killer a Pontiac is no problem at all. Personally, I couldn't care less whether it's a bowtie or a spearhead on the grill.

Loose means--too big--lose means you lost (had to vent about that

The biggest selling point for the GT500 isn't the fact that it has 450-500 horses out of the box, but the fact that it'lll most likely be capable of making double that with relative ease. If a future top-model camaro is going to be its true equal (or a GT500 beater), it's gotta have the same potential.
Imo, that's what sets cars like the supra, GN, and Cobra apart from the other cars.
Having said that, I'll like my Lsx 5th gen with a helping of boost on the side
