Though they still have the capacity to produce another line of car there, it's doubtful Camaro would be one of them since Camaro would be produced with one other similar coupe or sedan at a bare minimum.
They did expand back in 2002 and that was suppose to be for the XLR. It hard to believe they did all that expansion just for the XLR.

BG was and wasn't expanded. The XLR line is where part storage used to be. The XLR is a station build production rather than a typical production line moving at a set speed.

I'm at BG at least twice a year, the last time to see C6's being built along with C5. What was especially nice was doing the plant late when the line for Corvette was down but the XLR production was still running. Will Cooksey does a very good job at BG. It's one of my favorite places.

My money is on Hammtrack where the Bonnie is made at right now. Also I would look to one of the Oshwa plants to get the big number Zetas from the start, IE grand prix and at the end of the decade Impala.

I guess there is not much chance of the Yukno, Tahoe and Escalade getting cancelled and the Camaro being built at the Arlington plant. That would be so cool to have them built right in my back yard.

Yah, I'm sure they'd axe 3 of their biggest moneymakers to build the camaro there...

I don't care where it's built, if it performs, looks, and acts like a camaro, I'm down.

I remember touring a plant in Ohio - not exactly sure where , now.

At any rate, it seems like it was a B.O.C. plant - Buick, Olds, & Chevy - J cars , maybe ?

This was in the late 80's and I thought it was so cool to watch them going down the assembly line.

While I would prefer to see a Camaro being built there , it would be neat to see the trucks as well.

B-O-C = Buick, Olds, Cadillac

I think Lordstown, Ohio (current home of the J-car) was once home to B-O-C, but I can't recall which cars.

what is going to happen to the plant in Shreveport, LA that makes (or at least used to make) Blazers?

Here's an idea. I'll make a list of all the plants and such that GM currently has in the US. You guys can go through and mark what vehicles each plant makes or will be making in the next few years.

The new GTO will be out for 2008 model year, not 2006, which would put it at 2007 calender year as Branden pointed out.

Holden is doing (has done?) the designs for the next GTO as part of the next Monaro project, so you can take that how you want.
