I know the factory in Canada, St Therese was not in the best geological position for the bulk of F-body sales, South!!!
I'm thinking GM would this time make a move to the US but I've heard plant talks in MI for years with certain platforms on the block.
Yeah, from a purely logistics perspective...the further south the plant is, the better.

Well, the S10 plant in NJ is going out...why not make it there?

Im sure Texas will be a prime place. Now will the factory be an old one reborn, or a new one? The S10 plant would be pretty cheap, and its used to making many variations of trucks at mass quanities, so a bunch of Zeta cars can come from there?

Is Bowling Green, KY at capacity? Oh how sweet it would be that GM's two premier sports cars being produced in such a historic local.

Great news! 07 model year sounds perfect. How cool/weird would it be to see a 40th anniversary model come out after being on hiatus for 5 years?

While the buzz about the plant has all been about Canada, I would LOVE to see the Camaro built in the States again. Also would help get the car shown around if its built in the right location.

Think so. Especially once the XLR revs up.

I can see it now.....

"Today, the New Jersey Fbody Assoc. joined in the festivities of the re-opening of the updated GM plant. Co-founder of the New Jersey Fbody Assoc. Alex "Big Al" Villani was there at the opening of the brand new Zeta chassis plant that will be used to build the next generation Camaro. He was quoted as saying "Now I can die a happy man...after I buy my Camaro Z28!!"

Issue:
Excess plant capacity

Resolution:
Condense multiple vehicles in the same plant, or even the same assembly line, while closing as many single vehicle plants as possible.

The Jersey plant isn't the prime choice & GM isn't going to build an entirely new plant anywhere in the immediate future.

Without betraying names or sources, it's going to be an existing plant, either expanded or remodeled. Look at the plant that's going to make GM's Kappa cars as an example as to what to expect. It used to make just mid sized Saturns, now it's going to make at least 3 separate cars.

I think the real question on the minds of myself and other F-body club officers is are we going to have to change our club names or is the designation going to be resurrected to indicate the Camaro's specific version of the Zeta platform?

f*** yeah
why not expand bowling green so they can make corvette, camaro, and xlr?
3 sweet cars built in one plant that was expanded
fits into guionm's description
plus, it's really close to me

any closer and it'd be norwood built camaros again

Bowling Green has current capacity to produce 80,000 vehicles per year. Adding XLR to their line required no new construction.

Though they still have the capacity to produce another line of car there, it's doubtful Camaro would be one of them since Camaro would be produced with one other similar coupe or sedan at a bare minimum.

My money would be on the "f-body" moniker sticking around for the F5 .
