(I gotta stop foaming at the mouth here... people in the office are starting to get worried!
)
I'm always the first to say I'm no fan of 4-doors.
But . . .
I gotta admit this is pretty cool. Here's to hoping that GM really DOES price it at $35K and causes a lot of German sphincter-clenching.

so, the XLR will have 320 hp for $76,000 and the CTS will have 400hp for half the cost?
I just cant believe a sub $50,000 price tag.
Not a Chance at that thing coming in at the $35k range. Just add the cost of the upgraded brakes, the bigger wheels, different rear end, stiffer suspension, etc, and I'd say minimum $40k and thats wishful thinking..JMHO though.

Agreed, this has got to be closer to the $45k to $55k range. As noted, a typical CTS is already $35k.
If the LS6 and $35k were possible, why wasn't it put in the 35th Camaro SS?
BTW, I think the XLR is supposed to receive a nice power boost as the C6 debuts.

I think it's absolutely great. But no matter how good it looks, how well it's built, or how fast it is, I'm predicting many people will still overlook it simply because it's not German or Japanese.
My guess is low 40s on the MSRP. The best thing about this car is that it is a LS6. You can make it even more powerful on a camaro budget. What I mean is that performance parts will not cost more than on a camaro/vette. Did you know that to do a pulley change on a benz blower can cost 2-3k WTF is that????
GOD DAMN that is a HOT car!!!!!!!!! Nice work Caddy & GM
A "well equiped" CTS is about $34,000 so my guess for the CTSv would be $40-43K
You can't have a LS6 CTS cost less than or even very close to a LS1 GTO
I also can't see a CTSv being $8,000 cheaper than a base LS1 Corvette.
So I'll guess $40-43K, which would still be a good deal compared to the M3 or any other 400HP car

Well, the CTSV will most likely be a 05 model, and from what I have seen the 05 GTO will have a 400 HP motor as the standard power plant. So the GTO/ CTSV will be closer in power so the cost shouldn't be much more than a GTO. 35K GTO, 40K CTSV. If Pontiac is supposed to be BMW and Caddy is supposed to go heads up with Mercedes then why can't the top of the line Pontiac be close in price to the performance version of an Entry level Caddy? I bet the LS6 is lex exspensive to manufacture than the standard V6 in the CTS. So the price difference is in the wheels/tires, suspention and brakes. So I say 5-6 grand more than the CTS with the same level of gadgets. So starting could be at 36 to 37K with a well optioned car in the low 40s. The Corvette is a car on its own from chevy and in 05 will be an all new model with a base motorof 405HP at least and will be 800 pounds leaner. They dont compete on any level.

I wish I were in better financial shape...I'd go to my local Caddy dealer and put my name on the waiting list
