Crown for "Best Bang for the Buck"
Toss up between the SRT & the Cobra.
If it wasn't for the current Z06 Corvette or Dode Viper, this little Mustang as far as I can tell would be the quickest regular production, American made car in history.....and it's list price is barely 16% above the average new car list!
The SRT is simply awsome, but comming off of renting a quick Front Wheel Drive Nissan Maxima the past few days (story in itself), I really question that vehicle's safety in the less than prudent hands of the group who's going to gobble these things up. That Maxima I had was downright dangerous at times!

Cobra hands down. In the hands of a good driver its capable of almost Z06 performance. I've seen a stock one at a local track click off several 12.7's @111 mph! Thats very very fast! Especially for a 3750ib pig!
I think part of the Best-Bang-for-the-Buck titile has to be modability. To me the Cobra with a hand built iron block, forged crank, Manley rods, and forged dometop pistons. That kind of motor with a blower sweet CR at 8.5 to 1. This car comes ripe for modding from the box. Basic mods, exhaust, 2.93 pulley, cold air kit, and a computer tuned chip result in 450-475rwhp. There are already a few Kenne-Bell blown 03's running 9's on the stock motor, with ith over 800hp! Now thats modability!

Hands down Cobra wins . Even at $35,000 . Hats off to ford for 1. building such a powerful car and not gouging the price , and 2. For building the engine right
.....they saved alot of guys lots o cash in advance , how cool is that !!!!

Im going with the Cobra because I think they leave you a little more room for cheap mods that the others without wanting the extra 17 grand for the Z06. The lancer and Sti are already running pretty high boost numbers so you cant easliy just pump up the boost and gain numbers.
And I just can justify the SRT-4 because its FWD and I dont think the engineering will hold the performance past 30,000 miles.
