I don't see SSR buyers and potential Colorado SS buyers as the same group.

They should definately build this rig!

Extended cab 2WD with I5 and manual is 3650 roughly. With V8 and T56 tranny, I'm thinking it's pushing 3900 lbs. Not as light as one might imagine.

If this thing comes out it needs to have a short cab option.

I doubt it will come out. I saw the EXACT one at sema car show. Same color and all. Thing had like 500 hp or something like that.

I just dont see what if any reason they could use NOT to build it Theres obviously a market for it, the lightning sold very well, and with it going on hiatus for a while and being probbaly more expensive when re-released theres any easy market for a cheaper but fast sport truck. Its got to be obvious to GM that we werent satisfied with the overpriced underpowered SIlverado SS, this truck is really a cant miss if done right. Being that the LIghtning, SRT-10 Ram and potentially a revamed SIlverado SS will be way up in the price department, this would really stand nearly alone.

That's not so bad. The old Typhoon was 4400 lbs and it moved well enough, esp. for its time. This truck would be the only thing short of a god-send Camaro that will prevent me from buying a Typhoon.

Re: Colorado SS pics....

even if it is 4000lbs, its a VERY significant 1000lbs less than a Ram SRT-10

I'd really like to see this as a production vehicle as well. More so than any future SS Silverado. This truck would kick serious ***.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the weight you quoted is for 4x4. 2wd will save another ~300lbs.

With 400HP this thing would be quicker than the heavier Lightning and probably give the SRT-4 a run for its money at over $15,000 less.

GM has shown two Colorados with V8s and two 3.5L I5's with turbos, it will be interesting to see what the GMT355's get first

Re: Colorado SS pics....

Didnt GM go SS truck wild a while back at some car show? Chevy said they would make a SS version ot of pretty much every car and truck they make. The q? is will the Colorado SS be a 5.3 v8/6.0 v8, Turbo I% of just a wheel tire package? Im hoping for a 6L rwd short cab/bed SS truck to slap some turbo's on

According to the US site, the weight is 3550 lbs approx. Canadian site says 3650, so I dont' know which way to take it.

How much is the last generation Lightning?
