The question is, will the SS have the Holden front and grill with a bow-tie on it (like the mid-east Chevrolet's) or will it have Chevy's new corporate grill and front end styling?

 

The yellow Chevy looks like a G8 with a Cruze grill.

 

Based on those renderings, the new Commodore doesn't look much different than the current car.

 

GM: Please don't put a Malibu front end on this car.

 

It is going to look more like the blue and black rendering.

 

eh. I'll await till Feburary. Those pictures are still using too much current GM products to make their renders. Reminds me of all the 2014 impala renderings which looked nothing like the final product.

 

I like both the blue and yellow renders, I wonder how the production car will look? Anyways, V8 RWD Performance sedan - damn tough choice if the SS makes it for a few years SS or GT??????

I'd say GT500 but I figure with the way Ford is going along with the economy a GT500 kitted out right will easily be 80k or more come next generation.

If this is an indicator, looks like we are getting a Holden with Chevy badges. That makes me happy because Holden's usually have good aggressive styling.

Nope, that a VE. VF hasn't been released.

 

So if VF follows VE, was VE preceeded by VD? sorry, i couldn't help myself

 

It was skipped for that very reason.

 

Chevrolet is moving away from the split grill. It starts with the upcoming Impala, and next up the refreshed Cruze won't have it.

GM is merging Holden and Chevrolet. The Commodore SS and Chevrolet SS will almost certainly be the same car with different logos the way Holden's Cruze, Volt, and upcoming Colorado are vs Chevrolet's versions.

Also (and I won't hold my breath till it's actually sitting in a showroom), apparently the idea of importing the Ute is back on again.

The 3 things putting it back on the table?

1. It won't look like a G8 with grille change (the VF styling is new from the front pillars up), and would be a good companion vehicle to the SS

2.GM is serious about making Chevrolet the world's biggest brand over Toyota.

3. The vehicle is CAFE neutral (although it would actually help GM's truck CAFE numbers...which are figured differently than cars...it's expected to sell in such small numbers that it wouldn't make a difference).

Plus one other thing...

The Chevy Spark wasn't predicted to sell anywhere near the numbers they're selling, and GM is scrambling to get more to dealers. This has some people at GM rethinking some of the other vehicles they don't think would sell here, and the Ute is one vehicle on the list

Holden = Chevy is a great thing!
I don't know if it works the other way around... but i am glad to see such a move!
