Wow I've never heard of, or seen a 5-speed V6 Grand Am. I've seen 4-cylinder Grand Ams with a 5-speed and I have also seen 4-cylinder Aleros with a 5-speed.

yup, only one I had ever seen, but it was listed as an SE2, though it had the GT body cladding on it, and it was def a v6 with a 5 speed. maybe special order orsomething ? who knows.

GM does not mate the 3400 V6 with the 5 speed. The 5 speed doesn't have the torque capacity, and I don't think they've run the emissions certification on that combo.

A quick check of Pontiac's website confirms this, and also says the SE2 is not available with the stick. I don't know what you saw, but it wasn't production and probably not legal for sale.
