No, don't read into that.

Guion,

Is there a wink, wink, nudge, nudge that goes along with this statement?

Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.

Hey, it could be worse. At least it's a RWD V8 car.
People are already saying "That's not a Charger..."

anyone remember the 4Cyl. FWD Chargers from the 80's ???

PS - I had one, so I can talk smack about them.

Nevermind acceleration out of such a heavy car, the article says they're aiming for Corvette handling as well!

They can aim for whatever they want but achiving it is another story. I am sure it will handle well for what it is but I really doubt it will be up to Corvette level handling.

Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.

:blah: Looks like a sedan version of the Magnum. Same ridiculous LX beltline. I am almost thinking that it is simply that, a Magnum sedan (did we really think they'd replace the Intrepid with only a wagon?). Maybe a Charger/Challenger smaller coupe is down the line separately? Or did they just decide to call the Magnum sedan a Charger to play on the historical name (like the "hemi"), and this is indeed the return of the Charger in name only?

Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.

The guy also claims that "chrysler has officially said that it is a charger" but I havent read that anywhere else..so I doubt the rest of the article is true.

Im thinking its a magnum sedan...put 20's on it, the 6.1 and a m6 and that thing is gonig to look sweet.

Like this, only sedan:
magnum srt8 wagon

If it's a Magnum sedan (I hope) then why aren't there fender flares as on the Magnum stationwagon?

I agree. Getting a heavy 4 door to handle on the same lines as a two seater 50/50 weight balanced sports car is gonna be uber-tough.

I'm hoping that car doesnt wear the Charger name-plate. If people who blasted the GTO accept this thing as a Charger I'm gonna start handing out the "I'm a hypocrite" signs. I'm REALLY hoping thats not the Charger but with Chysler saying "The Charger is ready, are you?", im not holding much hope.

One more thing: Does anyone else think these pictures are too good to be true?

Think about it. I have never seen a pic of a future car, let alone 3 of them, on a trailer. The guys driving them usually "run away" when they see a camara. These pictures make you think this truck was just sitting outside with no one around.

Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.

all i know is, car manufacturers are doing a horrible, horrible marketing job with these car names. sticking GTO on what the GTO looks like now? yes some people love it, but the general reaction is disinterest. a 4 door charger? the horsepower war is starting to really heat up again and they will be vastly hurting their sales with a 4 door that will be heavy as hell. people butchering these cars images with all the lack luster reintroductions has me very very scared for the camaro revival.

Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.

At the bottom right of this page the link has a blurred pick of the rear of the 99 concept. The Charger could still be something else
actual concept pic

Now why would they show the concept car and bring out something else?
