Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
Wow, i was expecting the rear doors to be small (think rx8), but those doors are huge
. This is basically a sedan version of the magnum, or another way of looking at it is as a Dodge version of the 300C sedan. That fact alone dissapoint me.

Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
Chrysler has a trademark on the name Super Bee. Just some food for thought.
edit: Some more food.....
Everyone knows that the Dodge dealers were very upset when there was no Dodge sedan version of the 300. While this is understandable, you have to wonder if there was ever meant to be a Intrepid replacement? When the 300 and Magnum was released, it was rumored that the Charger was going to be the Intrepid replacement, but then there was the solid rumor that it was going to also have those 2 smaller "fire escape" doors in the rear. How can you have a car that is replacing the Intrepid not be available with 4 full sized doors? This does not make sense from a marketing position. The rumors of this "other car" are pretty recent, within the last 4-6 months. The Charger rumors have been around long before this "other car" starting leaking out. Did Chrysler get so much presure from Dodge dealers that they decided to make a sedan version of the Magnum to shut them up? Remember, everyone suggested that the Charger was going to be the Intrepid replacement. I don't ever remember hearing anything from Chrysler saying this.

Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
I thought the Charger was going to be a Sedan that looked like a coupe? I was expecting Ion style suiside doors or hidden rear doors handles like the 99 Charger concept or SS concept. If that is the Charger it is a big disapointment. DC will be 2 for 3 with the LX cars, oh well not every car can be a homerun. Glad I didn't wait for the Charger like I was thinking.
Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
Yeah it does look alot like the magnum..for the middleaged family man who just wants something that kinda looks sporty with a v8 then i guess its alright. But that thing is gunna pull 15 sec times with all that weight.
Dodge has nothing in the camaro/mustang price bracket. you would think they would want to compete in the market.
80-100k dollar viper
50-60k dollar srt 10-ram
20k dollar srt 4-economy car
20k magnum
18k stratus
15k ram
no coups unless its a 100k dollar viper or a economy car srt-4

If you were not going to make a 4dr sedan to replace the Intrepid, I can think of one really easy way to make one really quick....make a production version of the Enforcer.
Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
Well, this is a letdown, although you could see it comming with all the info and earlier spy shots. I will be really interested to see how this thing does.
Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
I guess I'm the only one who thinks this car looks really nice. I love the lines, it looks powerful. I will wait until I get a clean look at the front and rear ends for a final opinion, but I really like what I see. I think the srt-8 version of this car is going to be incredible.
Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
What about this part of the article...
That handling part seems a little far fetched, right? How heavy is this car going to be?
The SRT-8 model is said to have 0-60 numbers of under 5 seconds, with handling comparable to the base Corvette.
Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
Why does this car have to be so slow so as to pull 15-second 1/4mi? It's the same car as Magnum and 300C, and those things pull 13.8 to 14.2 and trapping around 100 mph with the only available AUTO tranny.
Re: Charger in transit....Real GOOD pics.
If they're not even going to produce official artist sketches or show the car at a international auto show until January, why would they have a truck load of the things cruising around already? I don't know, feels like the timing isn't quite right or something...
I'm holding out faith that this is something else entirely. It's just ALL WRONG for a Charger IMO. That coming from someone who defended the new GTO and such...
But I guess I'm just grasping at straws, it won't surprise me if they flush the potentially great new Charger right down the toilet with this abomination...
