I tend to agree with Doug on this. Chevy is becoming the GM equivalent of Plymouth. Short of Corvette...Chevy has nothing but bland, low end, GM leftover cars.

Plymouth used this same strategy in the '90s....and look what happened to it.

Well...all is not lost. At least Chevy still has trucks.

Didn't Red say that Chicago will be Chevy's show to shine. Let's see what goes on there.

OK...need to clear something up here. The Chevy Exhibit in Chicago will have more cars than in Detroit.... Chicago will have the Cheyenne and SS concepts as well as the Malibu, Equinox, Colorado, and SS Signature Series -- as Detroit did...but we will also feature the SS SEMA concepts, the Corvette Salon, and show some new SS models on existing platforms.

You will not see a new Camaro in Chicago.

Why are you lamenting? Who cares about Chevrolet, Pontiac,...or any other brand for that matter? I don't understand loyalty or devotion to a brand, especially if their products are uninspiring. If they can't get their act together then Chevy deserves to join Plymouth and Olds.

My philosphy is to buy the product, not the brand. I buy whichever product I like the most when I happen to be in the market (although I will give preference to "domestics"). What Chevy or Pontiac made in the past that that I liked is irrelevant. If I don't like any of GM's current products enough to buy one, then I have no problem buying from a different company.

Why be loyal to a company just because you bought something from them previously? They must earn your business and loyalty EVERY time based soley on the merits of their current products.

If I was in the market in 2005, I'd probably buy a Mustang GT because I like it. Chevrolet who?

With the Camaro gone, Corvette could be it's own seperate division at this point. Then maybe cars like the new performance Caddy (XLR?), could be under the name Corvette.

It looks that way I hope its just more smoke. What a disapointment I just hope there is a new Camaro by the time I am in the market for 1. I do like some of the SS trucks , however I am a Camaro fan, not a truck guy. I hope they don't wait to long

I can recall B.L saying the focus right now is to improve the divisions that need it 1st, so improvements for Chevrolet, being the most successfull still somehow, is gonna be a while most likely.

All the talk about great things happening at the next show and to look for "fast Chevys" is probably just more of the usual BS. Wow, a Corvette with a wierd name, SS put on anything and everything that doesn't deserve it, 2 already bland, FWD, V6 cars with an S/C, yeah its gonna be exiting alright. Even less then the GTO and SS Concept. But then again who knows what they'll do, I just doubt anything real good.
