6.0, 6-speed, RWD........$23K
Here's some more info.
The Silverado SS Regular Cab (as it is called) will be at SEMA.
It has ...in concept form anyway....a cast iron 6.0 with LS6 heads, headers, exhaust, K N, and all the usual....
395hp @ 5500rpm
409ftlbs @4500rpm
It weighs 4190lbs.

When is SEMA and when will the truck make another appearance at a show the general public can attend. Has GM made a commitment to produce it. I just hope it has some *****. an LQ9 at the minimum. In the same hot rod mag that the Silverado SS clip was printed there is a article of the marine 8.1L BB a good choice for out SS. What was of interest was a small side article on a 6.0L wioth a magnusson blower/intake cobo that makes 500 plus hp/tq. Thats the motor the SS needs.
If it can reasonably tow a Camaro on an open trailer, 4 tires in the bed with a box of tools, and for $23-25k, and if I can get 0% finance with 0 down, I'd friggen preorder it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For $30k, I would seriously consider getting it. But for $23k... sold!!!

How light could you get this possible future SS. I guess around 4100 lbs in the stripped down configuration. Tubular suspention, engine cradle, headers, aluminum block ect. Could you get it down to 3800 lbs?
GuionM - what have you dug up on this different Silverado SS

Haven't even tried yet. All I know is that it will be at Vegas this week (too wrapped up at work or I'd try to go). Haven't heard anything about production yet, but just a guess is that if they will produce it, it'll be announced at SEMA or shortly afterwards.

In that same issue of Hot Rod in the article on the new Marine use Bigblocks there is a blurb about a 6.0L Vortech Motor with a eaton Blower on top. Its a GM comissioned Project and looks production ready. They even had HP and TQ #s to quote. This is the motor the Silverado regular cab shortbed needs. It was rated at 500hp and 530 tq. Now thats what Im in need of in my next GM car/Truck.mmmmmm. Supercharged GTO
Lastest on the reg cab SS from the SEMA show....

That truck looks killer. I want one . I know 23K is not gonna happen but 25-27 is still a good deal. GM please give it the green
light. If GM can get the truck to market by summer of 03 they might get my money. I try tobuy a car every 2 years. I want a GTO with a gen4 motor or the next gen stang cobra maybe......

"Though still considered a concept with no definite word yet on production, the Silverado SS Regular Cab is, "the other end of the spectrum (from the 2003 Silverado SS)" according to Rick Scheidt, Marketing Director for the Silverado. "It's where we'd like to go."
Then freaking go there!! We're not holding you back!!
And not trying to be overly picky here... bu the interior could use a weee lil bit of work lol... like carpet.
