Third Gen

If they nicely mix obvious cues with some new designs they should have a winner.

My vote goes to a mix of old/new
just like I thought.. a lot of people on this forum talk really harshly towards GM, but nobody (so far) could bear to vote "I will never consider a Camaro again ever!" There's hope yet for a blockbuster 5th gen

I also find it interesting, that after all the people praising the 05 Mustang Concept, and all the people claiming to love retro... that only FIVE votes out of FORTY-NINE so far have been for all out retro.

Obviously, I am very happy about that.

"Just say NO! to RETRO!"

I warned you that I had your comment locked, loaded, and ready to fire!!! ROFLMAO!! J/K with you pal!

Seriously, I think that most (myself included) that voted for "mixed new and old" see the '05 in that category Darth. I didn't perceive anyone's comments putting the '05 in the "pure retro" category. Do you think it falls in there?

hotrodtodd74 said "...I don't call the 05 Mustang all-out retro...". That pretty much seems to be the overall sentiment. And I agree.

I don' tthink ya got me there...

I was referring to the current Mustang when I said I did not think it was all-out retro.

IMO, the 05 Mustang Concept is all-out retro...

And, finally, if you look at the examples listed in this poll, the 05 Mustang Concept is listed as an "All-Out Retro" example, and the Current Mustang is listed as a "Mix of old and new" example...

So , I think I am still OK with my past and current comments

YES - the originator listed the '05 concept in the "all-out retro" category in the poll... BUT that doesn't make it gospel! That just means that you and "they" share the same POV.

Likewise... I was trying to point out that many of "us" others DON"T see the '05 as "all-out retro", but as a "mix of old and new". I was referring to (unsolicited BTW) comments like these...

Well, i see the 2005 mustang as a prime example of mixing of the old and new
One last comment on my part about '05 v '03 Mustang bodies... You say the '03 isn't all-out retro, but the '05 is? I personally think the '05 concept favors the '03 body MORE THAN it favors the '67 body. Granted there are definite similarities, but at 100', I'd mistake the '05 for an '03 before I would a '67.

I know you were! I was just ribbing you a bit because of this subject matter. No seriousness intended.
Thanks for having a funny bone... so many folks don't these days.

Whew! My head is spinning!!

Well, I just used the definaitions that Formula79 used in his poll, because I figured they were to be the guidelines... because he lists the C5 as a mix of old and new, and IMHO, I see the C5 as pretty much an all new car, or as I like to say, an 'evolutionary' design...

Eh, so much of this is subjective anyway, it's impossible to catagorize.

:Insert smiley here with my eyes spinning around cuz my brain is fried:
