Re: 5th Gen Concepts

this one
I really like this.
Try to stay as far away from 4th & 2nd gen as possible, IMO.

The roof of the car needs to be curved more, give it more of a tear drop look.

Thumbs up Re: 5th Gen Concepts

The profile on this one looks great:

What about Fog Lights? Can't wait to see the finished product.

Re: 5th Gen Concepts

All of my original concepts had fog light in them but I axed them because I wanted to put in the brake cooling ducts. If I had both the ducts and fog lights, the front looks way too busy but I could look into that.

Al, are you talking about the profile view needing to be more streamlined? I am working on concepts for both a hatch and trunk and the hatch of course would give that streamlined look and I think that is the direction I want to go. So the hatchback will stay.

I am having a hard time with the grill. That seems to be the hardest part. I want to make it look like a Camaro but at the same time I want to bring something new to the table.

Please keep the comments comming and I will have some more sketches posted in a few days.

Re: 5th Gen Concepts

I really like all of the designs. Pic #20 on the first page though is my favorite rear end configuration. It would be interesting to see more of the round tail lights though, because it seems Chevy is going more toward that in a lot of their cars. I can't help you with the front though. I wasn't crazy about any of the front end designs, but I can't give any suggestions other than I'll know what I like when I see it. I'd like to see fog lights because you know they will be functional. If GM puts brake vents on a car, they most likely won't be functional, and IMHO that makes it worse than not having them.

The profiles seem very similar, but I would like to see something more streamlined as well, but with a trunk. I know, probably can't have it both ways, but it would be interesting to see someone try. I'm not necessarily a trunk fan, but I would like to see alternatives. However, not at the expense of anything mechanical.

I guess it just depends on what you're going for. Are you going for the car you want GM to make, or the car you think they'll make? If it's the former, don't listen to us, they are all great designs.
