2010 2.5L I4 Fusion Will Get 34mpg !!
It is doubtful that a midsize hybrid today is going to get 40mpg. (Prius is technically a midsize car, but it is shorter than a Corolla. When you see the other hybrids improving city mileage and no real improvements on the highway, for this reason, I doubt 40mpg is coming on midsize cars today or in 2 years.
I also don't think the driving experience of a car that will get 34mpg highway and is this size is going to have a good driving experience. They didn't mention the horsepower that this vehicle will have, but it is going to have to improve upon current offerings to make sales on driving experience.

Also I think the small (1.6L?) Ecoboost engine was rumored to get 40mpg in the new Fusion
Ditto. I genuinely like the styling of the Fusion. Interior and exterior are both nice...not amazing, but nice.
That is exactly what I did. It is amazing what the subtle styling changes of the milan do for the personality of the car (in my opinion, and my wife's opinion...she who wanted nothing to do with the fusion, but loves the milan). Oh, and you can pick of these up for an insanely good value.
just a little sidenote. I took my roommates 2.3l I4 Fusion up north this past weekend. We decided to set the cruise at 60mph to see how good of mileage we could get...Went a little over 300 miles round trip and averaged 38mpg

Except for the rear taillights, which look a little cheesy to me, I think the Fusion is one handsome car.
