2008 Honda Accord
I wonder what it has for power. I'll be looking forward to test driving it. The one Accord I drove was a fantastic ride - communicative, light on it's feet, responsive (even in the 4-cylinder version I tested).
I feel about the Accord the same way I do about Derek Jeter. Sure he plays for the other team - a team I despise - but he's a great player who makes great plays when it counts.
The media likes to say the Camry sets the bar in the mid-size class, but it's a lunchbox on wheels. Accord is the car that established handling as a necessary quality for mid-size sedans. Having said all that, I think it's safe to say the next Accord will be a serious competitor, even if it doesn't look better sans camouflage.

My Audi has actually been near flawless since I started my lease on it almost 2 years ago. That hasn't actually managed to convince me that the horrible reliability ratings JD Power gives to the brand aren't true - I just think I got lucky. Either that or it's a time bomb waiting to happen - good thing it will be going back to the dealer long before the warranty is out.

Mine has been very good to me, it is 6 years old now with 100K miles. Heard that 4.2 engines break transmissions/torque converters around 60-80K, however, mine is holding up fine so far (doesn't mean it won't fail tomorrow). It is very reliable - always starts, always smooth, predictable accelerator response, and.... and.... NO RATTLES!
When I bought it, I expected problems to surface here and there, but am rather pleasantly surprised it's holding up this well.
If I was in the market for a family mid-sizer, the (2007) Accord would be up there. I wouldn't give the current Camry a second look.
I wish the new '08 Malibu had a better-looking rear. Then we'd really be cooking with gas.

I know what you're trying to say, but it's hard to give money to somebody after they've totally bent you over. The saying "Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me" keeps ringing in my head.
It actually makes it easier that I'm not a fan of the concept Camaro, cause if I liked it, I'd be trying to convince myself that the last beating I took, really wans't that bad.

It seems to me the only way the Domestics can hope to achieve "conquest" sales is by building dream machines - 300C's, Mustangs, Camaro's. These cars have enough emotional appeal to overcome the logical argument many people have for avoiding American cars. This is why projects like Zeta are critical, even if on paper they don't produce enough volume.
