2008 Honda Accord
Everyone is saying it "looks like a Sonata" but Hyundai ripped off the Accord in many areas to begin with....
This one doesn't look as nice as previous Accords, but it is a Honda and most people don't buy Hondas based on emotional appeal.

Honda transmission
What was the last year that Honda had issues with auto trans failures? It has been quite some time now.

I would assume that the sedan is just more dowdy than the coupe. When is that not the case? But I don't see what's much different about the front ends between the two. Other than grille texture, they look more or less identical to me from the front edge of the doors forward. The sedan appears to have the deep character line from the coupe, just taped over. along with the elongated headlights and the fogs.
Going by the sedan, I'd guess the coupe will look more or less just like the coupe "concept" other than details.

Indeed, buy anything but a Honda, and you'll be on the side of the road
You remind me of my friend who used to own a '97 Accord that blew its rear main seal doing 80 on the highway...this was in '00, with a whopping 57k miles on it.Too bad you had issues with GM cars, but saying a Honda is for-sure reliable is blind idiocy, especially today with the quality that pretty much EVERY manufacturer puts out...not to mention all the recalls Toyota and Honda has today.
Well, we know you're ok with ugly...you own a Ridgeline IIRC, right?

My Audi has actually been near flawless since I started my lease on it almost 2 years ago. That hasn't actually managed to convince me that the horrible reliability ratings JD Power gives to the brand aren't true - I just think I got lucky. Either that or it's a time bomb waiting to happen - good thing it will be going back to the dealer long before the warranty is out.

I like the Ridgeline (way better than the Avalanche).
Anyway, I'm going by MY experience. That's why I'm down on GM and buying Honda's. If Honda F's me over like GM did (and I know it could happen) I'll move on to another manufacturer. They all make crap from time to time, but so far Honda is willing to step up and make it right. GM, in my last experience, did not. I'm not and never will be blindly loyal to any brand. They'll have to earn my business and continue to earn it with each purchase and through each problem, if they occur.
I wonder what it has for power. I'll be looking forward to test driving it. The one Accord I drove was a fantastic ride - communicative, light on it's feet, responsive (even in the 4-cylinder version I tested).
I feel about the Accord the same way I do about Derek Jeter. Sure he plays for the other team - a team I despise - but he's a great player who makes great plays when it counts.
The media likes to say the Camry sets the bar in the mid-size class, but it's a lunchbox on wheels. Accord is the car that established handling as a necessary quality for mid-size sedans. Having said all that, I think it's safe to say the next Accord will be a serious competitor, even if it doesn't look better sans camouflage.
