With all this talk about GM (once again) 'fixing' the GTO for its second year, when is the '05 GTO set to go on sale anyway? I realise the '04 model year isn't exactly over by a long shot, but as per custom, next year designated new cars usually come out in September-October timeframe. Is this going to hold true for the GTO considering so many '04s are yet to be shipped here?

 

I heard production starts in Sept. so I guess we'd see them by Nov.

 

I think you're right Z28x. Production will start late summer-early fall, so we should start seeing them here before the 1st of the year.

Otherwise, GM would call them 2006s.

 

I work at a GM dealership and we already have some models that are '05's. No GTO's but we got our first '05 in April. Personally i think it is retarded to come out with 05's so early.

Arent the 05's comming out w/ LS2's..if thats te case I see alot of guys selling there LS1's and getting GTO's

Invoice on a six speed '04 is $30,029. Minus a $2,000 rebate...$28,029. Minus $3,500 in GM points....$24,529.

That's the deal I'm waiting for.....but do I dare bring home another yellow car?

A little more distinctive. The profile could probably be a little more 'chiseled' to match the front though...

But, again, I think we all know why the current car looks the way it looks...

 

If the GTO looked like that (and wasn't $35,000 ) I would think about buying one.

 

I'm already sold on the current GTO, but if that came out, I'd be like, "What Firebird?"

My "friendly" Poncho dealer has two GTOs, which of course, are the first two GTOs he's received... That's right, he hasn't sold either one. The oldest one has been hanging around since before Easter.
