i'm hoping the traffic jam idea was an off the cuff thought. I really don't want/need to be lumped into the same degenerate pool as the street racers, crotch rocket gangs, et al.

However, gather at a large lot is the way to go. Maybe a parade around the Ren Center folowing all traffic rules?....

I was hoping for passive resistance...

That whole Ghandi thing, ya know.

I'll settle for a parade around the Tech Center though...

Great idea though, I'd be all for that!
30 on the whole lawn. Better bring tents though.

Oh yeah, be nice to the German Shepard... he's generally pretty amiable, unless provoked.

A slow parade sounds cool... kind of fits with the "Million F-5 March" theme. No one is suggesting we do anything disruptive (aka hog rally) just want to let Mr. Lutz know how proud we are of our cars and supportive of those within GM fighting to bring back the Camaro.

exactly, doesn't have to be rowdy or meant to cause disruptions or chaos, just a sign of our commitment to the car and GM and that we want the same in return

Hmmm, Ok seems we've enough enthusiasm for this, now maybe we talk about a schedule? I could crash at Pacer X's, or get in at the local econolodge. Since this is a long drive for some of us, is there anything else to do in the area? I mean , the drive around will last, what, a whole 5 minutes per driver? Perhaps we could coax RP into an inpromptu meeting with the 'faithful'.

Let's start with a head count. Everyone who's definately up for this give a big thumbs up.

Tons to do in the area. The Dream Cruise is a cool event, and if I can get an idea of headcount and scheduling, I might be able to hook some cool stuff up like:

1) A plant tour of Pontiac East Assembly.

2) A cruise in or two.

3) Maybe a car show.

4) Throw out some more ideas.... I'll tell ya what we got.

5) Oh yeah, we could all drive up to Lapeer and run at a horrible track, or arrange something with Waterford and run a road course. Both are close.

I like the idea of a track event and a plant tour. I've never been through an automotive plant before. i'd be happy also with participating in the dream cruise as well (2nd choice I guess).

Jason, if you're reading this, how about a dedicated page for this and sticky's on all the boards?

Question

Um....

If Bob Lutz is also running GM-Europe, and is bouncing around the globe visiting GM's design and product development centers, and giving speaches and going to business gatherings & the like, how will we know he's actually going to be at GM's HQ when this happens?

He doesn't have to be. It'll get back to him if the event is big enough.

Yes it will, but....I think the impact of him being there in person is exponentially larger. Plus with the distances someof us are planning to drive, I personally would rather do the parade route with him there, and possibly looking out a window.

I definately think we need to do this when he's there...and me thinks we need some inside help.
