500 to 1,000 horsepower.
500 to 1,000 horsepower.
Here's a quote:
"Dave Hill, chief engineer of General Motors Corp.’s Chevrolet Corvette program, said mainstream automakers will build vehicles that exceed the 500-horsepower threshold in the near future. "

No surprise there. Ford would be considered a mainstream automaker and they should have the GT, Lightning, Mustang Cobra, Cobra R, and Shelby Cobra near or above the 500. 3-4 of them will be in the lineup at the same time (GT will be replaced by Shelby). You won't find that many 500+hp cars in Porsche's, or Lamoborghini's portfoliosL
. We know Chrysler will have a minimum of 2 (SRT-10 Ram and Viper), and GM should have a minimum of 2 if not more (z06 and next gen CTV-V).

neat... Looks like they have the HP department covered.
However, it would be interseting to see a ultra light platform, like 2500 lbs or less that can also take big hp powerplants.. I mean how cool would it be if GM can partner with Mosler Engineering to help em produce more and better MT900's for the street and track?

i never thought of it like that. with the hp wars going back and forth between. the ford GT being underated by 70hp, the cobras and cobra Rs being underrated, the news of a base vette getting over 400, the rumors of the z06 power numbers, and the blue devil super vette. i can't believe it took me this long to realize, domestic manufacturers are leaving other behind. like you said, with porsche, lambo, ferrari, aston martin, etc. i think the enthusiast has finally pushed the GM vs. Ford thing hard enough to surpass them. doesn't make me dislike Ford so much no, i even took the time to capitalize it.
