First of all, none of anyones times are gospel. . . with that said, I firmly believe the 6spd 400hp GTO's are capable of a very low 13.X @ 109mph.

900 lb difference between the 2 vehicles.

100lbs is roughly equal to 10 horsepower which is roughly equal to 1 mph in the 1/4 mile.

SO 9 mph should be the difference. . . no reason why a 6spd SSR can't run 13.8@100mph.

Same goes the other way from LT1 Fbody 1/4 E.T.s when comparing to the much heavier, musch more powerful LS2 SSR.

GTO will break into 12's, you'll see. Maybe not in car magazines, but give it to people who take them to the track.

You'd have to be a fool not to believe the '05 GTO won't break into the 12s very soon in stock form.

Well, those numbers aren't blisteringly fast but certinally respectable.

Ford Lightning did and it was rated at 380hp. But it probably put out a little more than 400hp realistically.

It could be done.

Re: '05 SSR 6.0L Times

SSR should be able to hit some serious times, and the GTO should be able to slip into the 12's...if it wasnt for thoes KDWS's....

Re: '05 SSR 6.0L Times

The reason Ford is able to run decent while only rating 380 hp is because they under-rate.

My Lightning stock made 360/430 @ the wheels.

Ford also did a good move by putting a Root's on a Lightning. Massive instant torque...which gets the boat moving and moving fast.

No building into it...instant grunt...

grunt
