Case in pont: Now you see, this has the potential of being quoted 1 - 2 years from now as Oh Yeah, many here were talking about 400 HP mid-level V8.

How is this any different from what Al said?

There were a number of posts where "anticipated" HP levels for GT would make it run faster than LS1. Not everyone, no, but my recollection is that it was an opinion thrown about here and there more than once.

To go and dig it up .. puhlease, there are better things to do than waste your time like that. Finding any vague information on the internet with "search" is rather time-consuming, mind-boggling, and oftentimes unfruitful.

Al stated xyz had happened. We called him on his BS, and he either hasn't been able to back up his statement, can't back up his statement, or doesn't want to take the time to back up his statement (or a combination of the three, which gets my vote).

That is quite a bit different from the statement about "400 HP mid-level V8s" that may or may not be available in a car that may or may not even be made.

That's fine and dandy, but if you cannot back up such a statement, it is rather meaningless. That leaves you with a few choices. You can:

A) Back up the statement with facts to prove your point and thus retain/build credibility.
B) Not back it up and hope that the deaf, dumb, and blind loyal apologists believe you anyway.
C) Not care and thus not respond.

We can pretty much eliminate C) for you anybody that has responded to this thread, so where does that leave us? Perhaps you have a D) to add? I could probably come up with a few suggestions.

Exactly. First, LS1.com has had some problems with forum managment, and all the previous theads were probably deleted off into space.
LS2.com has an auto-delete where if it gets past a certain date, it too gets removed.
As for this site, I belive more people are a little cautious to open there mouth. But to say that no one said it is BS. I really wish LS2 kept all there old threads. There was always a GTO thread, and the 05 Mustang always was brought up.
I guess I should just save anything I see for future reference just to show Im right.
Look, point is that the Mustang is not what everyone said it would be. People said that it could take on a Mach1, and it cant post the numbers the Mach1 can.

Al. Nobody said that "noone said it". I could probably find somewhere that someone said damn anything I could dream up. That's not the point. You said "everyone". Now I'm not foolish enough to take that literally (and I'm trying to give you a bit of credit in that you didn't mean it to be literal - I could be wrong), however, you obviously believe that there are plenty of folks that said it was going to be that way - fine. Prove it. Excuses are like....well...you know what they are like.

I bet you've done your your search, and you've come up virtually empty handed. You can't back up your statement or you would have already. You're just too hard-headed (and too much of a GM apologist) to admit it.

Suck it up, get over it, and keep posting those little tidbits from GMInsidenews.com (a nice site, btw) so that some folks will go on believing that your some high-n-mighty "in the know" type.

PS....I can find posts I've made on LS1.com from July 2002. LS2.com can be searched all the way back to its beginnings in Feb 2004. Don't see a problem, shipmate.

Gawd, Your skull is pretty thick. Drop it, PLEASE! How many Ford engineers/ marketing staff/ employees are included in this "everyone"? NONE! It was all speculation.

FROM NOW ON, NO MORE SPECULATION! BIG AL WILL TAKE IT AS TRUTH AND WHINE ABOUT IT IN A FIVE (edit: SIX!) PAGE THREAD!

Also, the comments about 400hp mid-level V8's in the Camaro werent made by rational people, and shouldnt be taken seriously. Pacer's statement was about the most absurd thing I have ever read on this board.

Re: 05 Dyno's 279rwhp and 300rwtq

Thanks again L.A. Z.

I didn't want to point fingers at a specific poster because I own a few Fords. Thus, I would be discredited by association.

Hey, can I use Al's math??? If I use that, I can state that "everyone" thinks that the next gen Camaro will have a 400+hp mid V8 model.

Sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself.
