Re: 05 Dyno's 279rwhp and 300rwtq

I love how the best comment you guys can come up with to argue that these numbers are just fine is "lets look at 05 Camaro dyno numbers".

Please. It might be nice for Mustang owners, but Fbody owners were pulling these numbers down less then a decade ago.

Lets see, we have track times that are almost a second behind a car 8 years older, stock for stock, and dyno numbers that fall short of what everyone on there said they were.
This might be good, but every Ford fan boy I have seen said that this car would dyno LS1 numbers, run LS1 times, and so on and so forth. So far, this car has come up with jack.

Outside of the corvette grandsport, i don't think any other GM car had the LT4 from the factory. Maybe tuner editions like the firehawk had it or something, but i don't think GM offered it is a factory option on the z28's. So his would be considered an aftermarket addition if it does have an LT4 like his name states.

No, there were some LT4 Camaros out there. Limited, but there were.

Ahh,just looked it up. But i found no LT4 z28's, just a few of the 30th anniv SLP SS's appeared to have them. 330hp. 0-60 in 4.9. The 1/4 in 13.2@107mph. Pretty darn quick.

94z/Mach, have pics of those GT's? Is it too late to hit the strip and dyno for some real world #'s? .

What was it, 125 produced, 100 for the US and 25 for Canada? I forgot the exact numbers.

Something like that. Did a search and saw 100 SS's and 30 firehawks (1 prototype, 29 sold to public).

Heh, I knew there were only a few that came with that motor from the factory, but I was more or less just throwing a jab at the guy....I HATE it when people start telling you their car makes this much power and so on and such, when you have the same car, the same year, the same motor, and OBVIOUSLY know the car better than this guy does. Just a pet peeve of mine.

Guess I should LMFAO at him

Those numbers dont excite me about the new Mustangs at all. When I first heard about the new stangs back in the day I was hoping for something like 350hp and not 300hp then these dynos dont excite me at all. Even teh 1/4 mile time of 13.8 stock doesnt excite me. Still we can all say we will see millions of these all over the place its like a civic gona be everywhere. Now the Saleen and Cobra should well I hope will be something to talk about.

You know, once you realize there is more to the world than quarter mile numbers and dyno charts, you will learn to live alot better.

As far as Ford mustang, great model, great car, great quality, the point is the mustang outsold the fbodies, so certainly ford did something right. for the 99% of the world that doesnt go drag racing every friday night instead of going out....13.2 versus 13.6 doesnt matter. What matters is they get to drive in a hot new car, with great build quality, gets more looks than some 10 yearold car, and makes them feel happy.

With the excpetion of power.... the mustang did everything right than the fbodies did wrong.

I am realizing that the clean front look without the fog lights is much better.

are they optional on GT or standard? can you remove them?

Right.

And we're still yet to see if sales will be as good as people think.

Of course, it's probably time for the standard dyno disclaimer.
Wow, 280 are what turd LS1s dyno. A4 98-00 are usually around the mid-high 290's, low 300's for the strong ones.

Yeah yeah yeah....then everyone here would be in love with the GTO.

Point is that everyone PROMISED that this car would be LS1 Fbody beaters, yet when I bring is up, i.e. now, you get the backpeddling of "dyno isnt everything" and "track numbers dont mean jack" and then comes in the "at least Ford makes a pony car" crap.
