'05 Chevelle?
'05 Chevelle?
In my May 2004 issue of Hot Rod it has a lil piece about an 05 Chevelle. It says, quote "Our Forums have grown to the point where the information presented is getting ahead of itself. We recently saw a very convincing rendition or an '05 Chevelle that's different enough from the April fools' version that it's difficult to tell if it's real...." What do you guys think of this? Looks like Chevy's GTO, and I'm somewhat impressed with it's looks. Nice retro cowl induction hood. I'll skip around lookin for a couple visual for you guys. But what do you think about the Chevelle possibly making a comeback? And maybe replacing the...well...Camaro?

For the 10,000,000,000,000,000 time, it's a computer rendition and a magazine's opinion, that's all!
If I did a photoshop of you in a compromising position with a 3 legged mule, and gave my opinion of it, that wouldn't mean there was a thread of truth to it, would it?
Same here.

1) They are not going to be called "Chevelle" (for obvious license and copywrite issues).
2) They are not going to be built by GM (although they begin life as 2004-5 GTO's).
3) They are going to be very expensive.

Also they guy who ordered no. 1 of 40, says they aren't going to look anything like the photochopp in the magazine.

Essentially a customizing shop's job, not a production car or anything affiliated with GM by any measure.
There was once a custom shop that turned Fieros into Ferrari look-alikes, but that didn't make them Ferraris. Just wannabes for people that wanted something different and had more cash then taste.
I put this shop in the same catagory.

Don't think of this is a kit car guionM, these are going to be one off bad *** hot rods with a lot more than a cheap fiberglass skin. (Actually, a lot of carbon fiber is involved
)I've seen pictures of car #1 in progress and it is bitchin'.... even you'd want one.

The big difference here is, this is a high dollar hotrod/restoration shop. Their customers spare no expense and their cars are in the magazines we read AND they win awards.

Perhaps that Calloway Camaro is a better example. Taking a regular car, and adding a different nose & tail and charging a vaultful of money for it. Then, like Saleen, build an engine and charge you for it and certification. In the end, like the Fiero *** Ferrari you end up not with a Chevelle, but a car that resembles something else, but isn't.
Saleens got their reputation when Ford accepted them and essentially gave them factory sanction. Ditto SLP, and to a smaller extent, Calloway.
I really don't see the same thing happening with Aloha Dream cars.
I'd probally want one, but I'm a value type of guy. The 1st question I'd ask is "is it worth it". To me, with HSV and GM performance division supplying replacement grilles, ground effects, and engine pieces, I'd have to say Aloha wouldn't exactly be my 1st choice.

I couldnt really find real pics of the cars by aloha. I like the Hemi cuda rendition...as far as the "chevelle" HRSS thing the photo shop looks like **** but the concept i saw on there homepage looks good, the rear is almost exactly the same as a 70 chevelle. The front is too pointy, and the photo shop looks too much like a malibu. Does anyone know how much these cars run? 35k gto sticker plus? 20k in cosmetics or more if they do the 454?
