Angry GC users?! HELP!!!!!!!!

Well I did the install today along w/ the BMR upper and lower A-arms. Most went well until it came to the rear.

The springs are shorter than regular Eibach sportline springs. The adjustable collar adj in the middle roughly leaves the rear way high. But the problem is what do you do for when you are letting the suspension hang freely? The springs move out of position and so does the adj collar. From the looks of it appears I have a good 2"'s of play at the top of the spring before hitting the round bushing? Now I have Spohn reloc brackets and the LCA is set in the middle. Would putting it back to stock setting eliminate the springs from moving when the suspension is hanging freely? I have to have a 2nd person w/ me just to make sure the spring rests correctly. Has anyone else had this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Ride height from ground to bottom of fender well is 27" on the right rear side 27.5" on the left rear side. It feels twitchy out back too and I get a clunk over serious bumps never had that w/ the old sportlines & bilsteins. So it's aggrevating to say the least. Wish I could post a pic but maybe tomorrow when I go look at it some more.

Thanks!

I'm running the GC adjusters in the rear with 11" free length springs. The stock springs are 14.5" free length. When I set the car down my rear ride height is at 27" on both sides. However, I adjusted the right side up about .5" to get this equal ride height. For some reason my right rear has always been a little lower but now I can finally adjust that to be level.

Anyway, my springs have at least 2" of clearance to the top seat when the rear tires are off the ground, but I don't worry about it, since when I set it down the springs fall right into their proper seating position. I don't have the top rubber bushing above the springs anymore though. I would think this makes it easier for the springs to seat when I lower the rear end. No clunking here when I'm driving either.

Hey thanks. That's reassuring. My rubber seats move and the adj collor moves as well when lifted. I think I'm going to tack weld it in so it doesn't move. I'm going to try and relocated the LCA's too to the stock setting and see what happens.

Right now I'm 27.5" on 1 side and 27" on the other so it looks like I'll be doing the same thing as you. What's your ride height up front set at?

Thanks for info too.

Thumbs up

Jagsy I've got non existant body roll just the way I like it. Seriously it rides very well noticed a big difference they were on going slow over bumps. Haven't had the opportunity to really test though because of some height issues and slamming the piston in the shock w/ the new bilsteins. So right now I'm knocking it up a full inch for more travel per Sam Strano. Later this wk I'll test it for sure.

Glad to see you finally got your stuff too!

My front ride height is at 25 1/8". I lowered it as much as I dared to get -2 camber. At the time I was autoxing in ESP and couldn't get the Global West control arms. I plan to get them over the winter and raise the front back up about .5" and up the negative camber to -2.5 deg.

Red face

Woa! That's a little too low for me w/ the FLP's on there. My old suspension I sat at 26" all 4 corners.,..looked good too but couldn't get the pits to pass inspection w/ the addition of FLP's.

I'm gonna try 27" and see what happens. Does anyone know the height for Eibach Pro kit springs? That's the height I'm shooting for.

Thanks again.
