Post Shifter - from an auto-xer's perspective

I would like some opinions from my fellow Auto-xer's / Roadracers.
I recently picked up a '95 Firebird Formula with an M6.
In the past I have Auto-xed my '71 Camaro (M21) pretty seriously ... with that car its pretty much Hurst or nothing for a shifter.
For the '95 I am going back & forth between Hurst, B&M, and Pro-5.0 for shifters.
I'm concerned about a shifter being able to both upshift and downshift well. I'm also concerned about shifters popping out of gear (I've heard of some issues with the Pro-5.0).
I'd love some opinions from guys with real roadcourse experiance.

DON'T get the slp shifter- 3rd gear is a pain in the *** as you have to really be conscious of it.

Any others I can't comment on.

I have the B&M Ripper in my car and I like it alot nice postive shifts. It also uses the stock shifter ball.My car is mainly street driven and have not had any issuse with it popping out of gear.I have driven a car with the Pro 5.0 and it has a easier shift feel to it. The Ripper seems to be heavier if that makes sense.

I had the old style ripper (straight shifter shaft) and changed to teh Hurst Billet Plus because the handle was bent towards the driver. Made it easy to grab the upper gears when strapped in a 5pt.

I then swapped back to the Ripper (new style with a bent shaft) because it allows for some fore and aft adjustment so that now I don't hit my elbow on my seat bolster.

As far as operation, they all work great.

For autox I don't think it matters as I generally only shift once (first to second). For RR you can't go wrong with the B&M Ripper.
