Wiped out

i really dont know where this threat goes but i just had to tell someone besides the insurance company,

i just bought my third camaro about 3 months ago (96 black z28 t-56)

i was heading to work getting on the on ramp to the highway when i hit a ****load of water on the on ramp and started hydro planing at about 60 mph in 5:00 traffic, when i hit the brake and clutch and tried to steer straight into the road but was already side ways and was still spinning and before i knew it i T-boned the guard rail. I ended up tearing the pass. door in 2 halfs and threw the pass. window about 35 yards out of the door and totally destroyed the rocker panel and passenger side quarter panel and major scraping down the fender. i gotta give some props to the guy that put the 2'' bar inside the doors or otherwise i'd have a guard rail in my stomach. but at least no chasis damage that i think of and only engine damage is that it threw the belt off (from steering i guess).
at least i got full coverage.

BUT THIS SUCKS

Re: Wiped out

Why have you had 3 Camaro's? did you wreck the others? You got to take it easy in these cars as they are so so easy to lose control of in bad weather. If its wet out i usually run 60-65 on the highway even though most run 75mph.

Re: Wiped out

no i didnt wreck the others, i drove one and sold it for the fourth generation, and i also have a 67 camaro thats built for pro mod. i think it was a combination of hitting the on ramp right through a large puddle of water while it was already raining lightly lifted the car a little as it hit the ramp and started hydroplaining out of control

Re: Wiped out

sorry i didn't mean for it to sound mean but some people just buy these cars and wreck them. Then they replace and wreck, and just keep repeating the cycle.
