Cool Windshield wiper removal tips?

My '94 Z28 donor car wiper arms are being beligerent coming off. Thought I'd mix ATF & acetone to lube, and remove w/a gear puller. Tried prying w/a screwdriver but only scratched the plastic cowl beneth them, which I need more than the arms. Any better ideas? Thanx in advance.

Use something like a tie rod end puller, small 2-jaw puller, etc.

Yes, humor me. One learns from others experiences. Did you use any lube other than what I suggested? My co-worker, a J'man machinist/ASE GM mechanic, suggested a long prybar and a touch of anger, lololol. That wasn't turning out too well when I attempted it & before he dispensed his advice. LKM.
