Paint and body work are one of those things you get what you pay for. I can't wait to see the finished product. As for wheels, if you are staying close to a stock appearence, I would suggest SLP's Zr1s for the 3rd gens. I have seen a couple of 3rd gens with some extremely sharp Boyd Cottington wheels.

How 'bout a nice low-deck Shaffirof 540 that sits nicely under the stock hood?

Normally... I would agree with you guys abuot the cost. But, it does include block sanding and 3 coats of clear, wet sand and polish. Also, they sent out the front and rear bumpers for reconditioning. Also replacing all the weather stripping and all light lenses. Seeing how I don't have alot of money into it already, I feel the cost is justified.

I'll be representing 3rd gens at a couple of all Chev shows in the next few months... Hopefully it will be well received.

Hey, you get what you pay for. It looks like they are doing it right, I can't wait to see the finished product!

And in a few years when you get bored with her, you can trade her in on a newer model with less miles and no "body work", preferably that will drop the top in under 30 seconds at the push of a button

What color is it going to be painted? Every 3rd gen I ever see is red, so hopefully not red again. Well... there is that blue one with chips in the paint I see all the time...

Oh man, I LOVE third gens! When I'm done with college I want an IROC to resto-mod the he!! out of! Your Camaro is looking sharp! Can't wait to see the pics with the new paint job! I remember when these things were brand new. It's d@mn near impossible to find one like they came from the factory now-a-days. but when you do they are the sweetest looking cars!

9 grand just for paint and the labor to spray it is a bit high. But 9 grand for body work, prep, materials, spraying it, color sanding, another coat or 2 of clear and more color sanding then buffing is about right if not a bit cheap. In the paint world you can have any of these: a good looking paint job thats durable, A cheap paint job that looks good, a cheap paint job thats durable. But you cannot have a good looking durable cheap paint job.

I define good looking as: A paint job that looks like polished glass and has a deep hue to it. No signs of orange peel, trash, or holograms.

I define a durable paint job as: A paint job that last 5+ years and still hold a high polish. 2 part paint is a must. no single stage paint here.

I define a cheap paint job as: Any paint job costing less than 5,000 bucks.

Yeah... I tend to get carried away with things. But, that 9K did include new tail lights, marker lights, all new weather stripping, new tires and suspension upgrades.

I know I'll never get my money back, but hey... in my town, I got the newest '89 IROC around.
