Thanks guys that is what I was thinking also. I have access to a heat gun so I think I will use that and the dental floss idea seems to be a good way to cut through the glue. Sounds like the wrost part is just taking the time to remove the adhesive left behind.

 

I still dont know if I will like the look of it....I saw a couple of pics, and it seems like it will look good, but I still have my doubts.

I just removed mine yesterday... I like the way it looks a LOT better without the molding. It's not glue that holds the molding on, it's double sided tape. I used dental floss to loosen up a corner and then just pulled the pieces off. I used a plastic spatula type thing to rub off the excess tape and then sprayed it with bug and tar remover and wiped off the excess. It was easy to remove the tape. You can also use a finger nail and "roll" the excess tape off. All in all, it took about 20 minutes to remove all the molding and residue.

 

I just removed mine today. Looks great. Makes the car nice and smooth on the side. Kind of a pain in the butt to remove the 3M double sided tape, but it was worth it.

 

I Removed mine 2 weeks ago. At first I was concerned with getting the double-sided adhesive off with the molding- too hard! (yes, I'm a little impatient) So I just pulled it off slowly trying to let it (the molding) take as much of the adhesive as it wanted but still left most of it on the car. Then I simply used my finger to 'roll' the left over **** off. It came off easily and left only a few small chunks to clean up. But this was on an '02- fresher ****.

 

I used a hair dryer to heat it up. it came off easily. I just rubbed my thumb on the double sided tape and it peeled right off. I then went over it with mcquires paint cleaner to get off any residue left behind. took me about 20 minutes total for both sides

 

now red, you do what you want...whatever YOU think looks best. Don't do it unless you're sure. I put another side pic of my car up on my site in my sig...Look @ pic 3 & 4. Pic 3 shows the line all the way from the front wheel well, down the driver's door taken right at the level of where the molding used to be. It looks tight. Now look @ pic 4. It's a profile view of the entire car. As someone said earlier, this mod basically gives the car the same 'beltline' across the entire car, whereas before, the moulding on the sides break that up a little.
Some other points to think of is, that is that the mouldings DO kinda get wax and stuff stuck in the crevaces, and tend to fade MUCH quicker than the paint ever will. The one positive thing that I can think of is that they do provide a cushion for your paint when you open your door accidentally on another car.
