Sun Visors
Sun Visors
The elastic on the sunvisors on my '95 Z28 seem to have melted. The strap now sags and is no longer stretchy. I plan on going to the dealership tomarrow to see if I can order new ones because they are ugly. Anyone know if this is a common problem with the visors and if I should order ones from a '98 or later and if those will fit. My friend has a '98 Trans Am and it has visors with a different elastic material so I was thinking maybe they found them to be a problem and upgraded them. Thanks.

I have since gotten new visors
Very common problem. However, I'm pretty cheap so my fix is to open the mirror lid, take the elastic and stretch it up to the mirror, then close the mirror lid and "capture" the loose elastic. Problem solved
Same thing happened on my '94 Z28. The elastic seems to degrade more quickly in hot weather. I muddled along by sticking the elastic in the mirror, but eventually replaced them before I sold the car. They're expensive, about $50 a piece from the dealership, and they are a little bit different from the original visors. Just some of the woes of owning a car for more than a few years.
