Stripe Removal?

I was wondering if there is any certain way or any tips that I could use. Mine are starting to peal so I want to remove them so I can put some new ones on! Any advice would be great.

How long have the stripes been on your car?

If you want to do it the right way, and not ruin your paint, get a hair dryer.
And be prepared to work.

If your car is dark colored, and they have been on for a while, expect discoloration.

I just had mine painted on years back. And no problems.

Good luck.

I don't know exactley how long they have been on. The edges are starting to come up and there are lots of cracks along the hood stripes.
It is a white car, I like the idea of painted on!
Could you expand on the hair dryer?

I have taken off more than a couple sets of stripes before. I never used a hair dryer (not saying it doesn't work, I just don't have experience with it). The best way is just to find a corner that is already peeled up, and just pull it off carefully and slowly. If it breaks, or you get to a dryed cracked area, just gently use your fingernail to peel up another corner and start peeling some more. Once the stripe has been taken off, you may notice some residual adheasive left over. I have found the easiest way to remove this is with a clay bar and some soapy water.

Good luck!

Take a hair dryer or heat gun and heat up the decal. This will soften the glue and allow you to peel it off in large sections and leave very little glue behind if any.

That is unless they are old as sin. Then they are going to be a common SOB no matter what you do. They''l be brittle and break or rip everytime you think you're doing good.
