silverstar question ?????

Im about to do the full silverstar LT1 conversion and I was wondering
if the silverstar 880 foglamps will work with the stock fog lamp housings and will be reliable ? The silverstar foglamp # is 880 and the stock foglamp # is 885 . They only make an 880 in silverstars thats why im askin. Thanks

Re: silverstar question ?????

not sure about your question, but i put silverstar's in my grand prix and they dont look any different than the stock bulbs i took out. i was pretty dissapointed with the bulb's IMO. i would look into some sort of HID conversion so you can blind every mother _____ on the road!!!!

Silverstars are overpriced and don't work well. You'll read that in the appearance section here. Try these for low beam headlights, 80w ones: http://lightingresearch.com/store/pr...products_id=59

These for high beams (100W): http://lightingresearch.com/store/pr...products_id=58

These for fogs: http://lightingresearch.com/store/pr...products_id=76

Re: silverstar question ?????

PLEASE post in the correct forum.... questions about "headlights" do not belong in "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech".

Moving to "Appearance".........

And another caution.... do NOT bump your post to the top without waiting 24-hours. Read the post "stickied" at the top of the LT1/LT4 Engine Tech forum regarding "abuse of TTT" (or "anyone").

Re: silverstar question ?????

I put SilverStar headlights in my Firebird, and they were a BIG improvement.

The 93-97 Camaros got 2 low beam and 2 seperate high beam lamps, so maybe it won't make as big a difference, but for my 96 Formula, where the high/low is in a single bulb, it made a HUGE difference. Light is brigter and whiter, and I can see farther and more clearly.

Re: silverstar question ?????

Silverstars were a good improvement for me too. I only converted my lowbeams over because, seriously, why would you have to convert highbeams? It's not like we use them that much... or atleast... I don't lol. IMO, $40 for silverstar lowbeam replacements compared to $50 for stock replacements and a horrible shine.... $40 is worth it to me.

Re: silverstar question ?????

SilverStar Headlights are fine but avoid the 880 Foglamps at all costs. Mine burnt out or just plain stopped working after 2 months. I returned them for a full refund. Plus you really could not tell a difference. Just get the regular 880 halogens for $7. I got Wagoner Headlights a few years back and they are very bright at night and have a nice white color to them, not that nasty yellow/gold tint of OEM bulbs.
