Shorting automatic shifter

Does anyone have a write up on how to do this? Dont you cut like an inch off of it?

its fairly easy... the **** comes is held on with a large staple looking thing that's pressed into the front of it (where your fingertips would be). pry that out and the **** should pop right off. there's a white plastic rod in the middle of the shifter shaft. you have to use a dremel cut off wheel or something and shorten the outer shaft first. and then the white plastic rod BY THE SAME AMOUNT (ex: if the white rod sticks an inch out of the shaft, make sure you only cut an inch off it). if you cut it flush with the top of the shaft, the button on the top of the **** won't unlock the shift linkage anymore.
