separating door panel material

How do I separate the material from the door panel without destroying it? I want put a cloth door trim in its place. So then how would I reattach it? Hot glue, a big stapler, what?

if i remember right (did it a while ago to change window motor) but i think what i had to do was there are a few screws by the door handle / utility buttons, undo those, pop out the window up/ down and power locks utility pad, and unplug it, then it's just a matter of pulling it off.

Re: separating door panel material

I would try prying it off slowly and maybe adding a little heat to help separate it from the glue. Find some adhesive spray. I know loctite makes a spray.Get something that can with stand the heat from in the summer with windows rolled up. tape everything off. Spray both surfaces that will make contact and let it cure...

It may be easier and cheaper to just trade with something or buy a panel that already has the piece your looking for

good luck
