Removing stripes

Question Removing stripes

Hello

I was wanting to know how i can take the stock orange stripes off my car??? They are a chiped up and i bought new one from GM to replace them but would like to take the old ones off first.

My brother also removed his on his 97 Z. He just used a razor blade to get some of it started, but said that most of the pieces would just tear right off pretty easy. If not he would just rub and use his fingernails until they came off. It took him about 3-4 hours. If you go to his website you can see some pics before and after (it actually came out really good).

When I took off my pinstriping and the dealer stickers I just used a hair dryer. That's what everyone told me to do. Just don't hold it too close or on the same spot for too long or it'll F Up the paint. Don't worry, it'll come off pretty easy. Just make sure to go back over everything with some wax or surface touch-up stuff and buff away any leftover stickiness. Good luck

Like stated earilier you want to use a hair dryer and slowly work them off. The key when your putting the new ones on is to wipe the car with alchohol or bug+tar remover where they will be added then put them on in a cool place not in direct sunlight. Do this and your set.
