REally how hard is it to paint your own car
a buddy of mine with very little instruction painted his car by himself in his garage and it came out looking reallly good.I was wondering what does it take what guns to get how much air pressure is needed can i get a small chear air compressor
Re: REally how hard is it to paint your own car
its all about prep, cleaning the car of contaminates and also the garage itself..and ventilation so that it will dry right...but thats all I know..and next is the gun hopper and filters to get it smooth..
Re: REally how hard is it to paint your own car
Yeah, if you paint it in your garage, be sure to put warning signs around it, because if someone is smoking or lights up near it, kaboom.
Re: REally how hard is it to paint your own car
This is something I've been thinking about trying myself, when I bought my car there had been a cheap paint job done on it, which didn't look half bad except on the seems. but I'd kinda like to do it right. get it back to show quality.
Re: REally how hard is it to paint your own car
1. Clean
2. Heat/weather (You need lil to no humidity,no rain, no wind, and
about 65 degree weather)
3. Wet the floor with car outside, and wet your self down. (keeps dust to a
minimal.
4. Ventilation is important just makesure your vent doesnt let trash and
bugs in.
5. Keep you gun MOVING, keep it steady, and dont try to cover it in the first
coat.
6. Tweasers, keep them in ya pocket. They will help you get the bigger
bugs out when they fly into the paint, and they will.
Not to bad the clear is the tuff part but jus keep moving no stoping.
