Duplicolor, yes or no?

I have a nasty scratch on my black z28 from slipping into a ditch during a rainstorm. I touched it up with a friends body crayon temporarily and it doesn't look too bad currently. I may try painting it myself because body shops want too much, (I know it will end up being about the same if i buy a gun and all but atleast i can learn and do some more stuff down the line).

I was wondering if anyone has used any duplicolor paint on their bodies and how well does it work? Does it look good and how durable is it? My problem is the scratch hit the 1/4 panel, bumper, and the think that says camaro a little bit. I also wanted to repaint my front bumper from some small stone chips and a few other places could use a small touch up. Do you recommend i try the duplicolor or go all out and paint it with a paint gun?

Also, does anyone know the name of the color U8355?

well to be honest.. you shouldnt spray paint it for sure.. a dent/scratch will look better than the krylon.. second the code is just black

get the duplicolour touch up pen, fill in the scratch and then buff it with rubbing compound.

The scratch is like a 1 inch wide thing running 3 feet long so i dont think the pen will work.

I don't think anybody is going to have very good luck with a stock can of paint. You've got to get it custom color matched. I used duplicolor on mine, and, while the quality of the paint was great, it didn't come close to matching. I guess it had faded over the years and I couldn't tell. If you are going to spend the time. money, do it right.

I really would like to try the duplicolor before investing in doing the job how professionals do.

Can you give me directions to exactly what you did? Did you sand at all? Did you use any primer or clear coats, and did you do anything else?
